PRE DATING

when you first joined the detective agency, Ranpo wasn't planning into giving you any mind.. Until he heard someone talk about how your face is scary. Of course not in a mean way! Like.. Expressionless?

Ranpo isn't the one to use his 'ability' for something like this for many reasons. 1. He is lazy, 2. He shouldn't because it's disrespectful.

When you pass by after a while from knowing each other, he'd throw some teasing comments or two. Hell, he would even jokingly call you 'cold hearted girl'! (song reference??? Please don't hurt him like this anymore??)

Ranpo, though, isn't the one to go far, so he knows when to pout into his lollipop when you scold (threat him). But both of you know he's just joking and being annoying.

He thought that was all to you, thought. Because a nagging feeling inside him kept him going to try and make you laugh.. But all his attempts went to fail, so he just gave up on trying so.

That's all until he sees one of the sweetest smiles ever!!

He was assigned (forced) to take a case he kept complaining about not wanting to do so, but of course nobody gave a fuck. But just as he went downstairs, his absolute fatass remembered a small chocolate bar he hid in his desk. He was actually happy he had something he can munch on while solving this..

But he took YEARS to come upstairs because holy shit is he lazy as fuck. Climbing the stairs all this way is a whole exercise of two month to him lmao. After he went back inside the agency's office. He saw something he didn't predict..

You, sniffing a flower, with the most gentle smile on your lips. You were holding one of Fukuzawa's cats (how they managed to sneak here? We don't knooooww) in your arms. His eyes immediately snapped open.

He didn't care about anything else, not the fact his chocolate was eaten by a SPECIFIC SOMEONE (Dazai). He was just focused on your face. Is that why you hide your smile? Because you'd hypnotize everyone around you? Dazai would be more of an annoying piece of shit than him if he saw that.

DATING

He's also an annoying piece of shit. He wouldn't stop thinking about your smile. It genuinely stirred something in him. Something beautiful. The memory of your curved lips was nagging in his head.

So as your boyfriend, he's determined to make it happen again.

Suddenly, alot of cats are in the office in a supposed casual Tuesday. Cat food is thrown all around it's seed for birds. Atsushi and another white cat are having an awkward stare off. While the rest are....Kinda enjoying the company?? Except Kunikida. He's screaming.

“look, Y/n! These are just like us!”

“we are not cats, Ranpo.”

“oh? So you don't to hug these two kittens??”

“... Make some space.”

Ranpo would like to show his trust and affection to show you how much he loves and appreciates you. He hands you snacks casually, hugs you outta nowhere, and demands (begs and whines) you to company him in any case he goes to.

He's doing a little too much, sometimes nagging you to smile and trying to squish and play with your face, which makes your frown harden.

But he always means well! And if you asked him to slow down, he will pout but do it immediately. And THAT is enough to bring a genuine, small smile on your lips. He noticed it.

Huh...Making you smile is actually easier than he thought.

Ranpo + Good Morning Kisses

Your fingers threaded through Ranpos long, dark hair as he slept, drool hanging from the corner of his mouth while he continued to snore. You were smiling at the sight, he seemed so peaceful and comfy in the mornings, curled up with all the blankets that he had stolen from you in his sleep and twisted himself in. Over his shoulder, you could see the alarm clock approaching 7. You weren't really in the mood to hear the alarm yourself, but Ranpo still had to wake up, so you figured you wake him up much more pleasantly. You reached over and unplugged the clock, discarding the cord and letting it fall to the ground with a quiet 'thud'. "Ranpo.." you whispered, your voice scratchy with the lingering exhaustion. His snoring continued, the man not seeming to budge from his slumber one bit. You shook him a bit, hoping that some pushing and shoving would do the trick, but it wasn't. You huffed and pushed him over onto his back, straddling his waist and placing your hands on his chest to balance yourself. You stared down at him, a rivulet of drool still on the corner of his mouth. "hey, sleepyhead, wake up..." You groaned, gently threading your fingers through his hair. His eyes were still glued shut and his cheeks were slightly rosy, and you couldn't help but blush. Even when he was knocked out he was so pretty. You sighed and leaned down to kiss his face, it was just so gorgeous that you couldn't hold yourself back anymore. And hey, maybe this would be what'd wake him up. Your lips trailed from his cheeks to his nose, from his forehead to his chin, and then finally to his lips. When you parted from the sweet and sleepy kiss, his large green eyes were staring back at you. You gasped and jumped, pulling back faster than ever. "Holy shit, you scared me!" You playfully smacked his shoulder and laughed, making him pout and grab your wrist. "Good." He snickered a bit and pushed you gently off of him and rolled onto his side, facing your chest and cuddling into you. "I knew at some point you'd try to wake me up like that, I just had to fake sleep long enough." His cheek was pressed against your torso, turning his words into mumbles. "So what, this was a scheme of yours?" You rolled your eyes playfully as you continued scratching gently at his scalp. "Mhm!" He hums. "You should wake me up like that every morning, no need for an alarm clock." He says. You can't help but grin when you hear his suggestion and nod in agreement. How could you possibly resist starting every day with kisses? "Yeah, yeah, you got it."
