why do you like brook?

Auhg Brook…

Well, aside from him being downright hilarious,

Brook is loyal, noble, easygoing, and he wants nothing more than to protect and please his friends.

Brook keeps his friendships close to his heart, even the ones who have gone. After a long, long time, he still remembers Laboon, still worries about him, and him being alive and safe makes Brook feel the happiest he’s ever been in ages. He’s lost everyone he loves: He lost his crew members—his best friends, his family—and was alone for years with nothing but himself and a tone dial of his friends’ last song (complete with people dropping dead in the background) to keep him company. Even in death, his crew (namely Yorki) still means a lot to him and their friendship will impact him for as long as he exists.

As a man who wants to please his friends, he wants to be useful and to have a place in the already tight-knit group. He gives a feeling many people who are new to a group of friends feels: The fear of just not fitting in. His fear caused him to constantly screw up and make him even more anxious, but it only took the simple “I was in your place once” from Robin and the blunt “I picked you, so it’s fine” from Luffy, to make him realize that his worrying was for nothing! Brook instantly found his place as not only the Strawhat musician, but also, he found new friends to love with all his heart (ah, but he has no heart…)

Brook believes in his friends without question and highly respects Luffy as a captain. He’s been with the crew for what? Two weeks TOPS minus the two year timeskip? Still, he sees them as family and as nakama. He’s compassionate and is totally the type who can cheer anyone up with funny little stories and advice.

I love his humor and his gentle and playful ways of saying things. He’s a goofball, but he’s a fierce as hell fighter as well as an honorable swordsman. Brook is hard to dislike especially because i mean
