Jack White, Meg White, and Josh Homme : 2007
I have acquired three new 45s recently! -Jack White, Fly Farm Blues from It Might Get Loud This disk is very nice as one side is songless, with only the Third Man logo on it! -Jack White, If you talk too much this man will die Including Sixteen Saltines and Love is Blindness. I will see Jack White next month at the Civic Auditorium where I have seen the Strokes once and Brittany Spears for free. But Jack White at Outside Lands was the most incredible show and he was with his fancy players, so it was flawless and also quite incredible because he played a Telecaster for much of that show. And it was blue. It melted me. The other time I saw him was at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. Berkeley! The White Stripes, a show I will truly never forget that will never be repeated. But, then none will. He played guitar and piano at once. Oh and I saw him two other times. These are amazing times as well. First, at Outside Lands on a side stage as The Dead Weather. I was right in front of him and he came out from behind the drums and sang some aching tune while smoking a cigar with no guitar. It was painful ecstasy.
Then we saw him at the great Amoeba records with about 100 other people in the afternoon with the Raconteurs. So, the hundred of us were enjoying this romp standing among the enormous rows and rows of records everywhere. Afterward, as we walked through the parking lot, I could see him upstairs through an open window, just right there, he might have been shaving or something like in this 7inch picture, it was cool. -LiXi, Marco Garden, from 20siderecords a great band who opened for Emily Wells at the Rickshaw stop last month, look for them if you like rock that is also surf with modern female vocals and very chaotic bass guitar and keyboards at times. With neverending drums on clear red vinyl, hooray.
"I'm adding something new to the mixture So there's a different hue to your picture A different ending to this fairytale And no sunset into which we sail"
The Ranconteurs
