The Biggest Case - Closed
Jane Rizzoli had never really enjoyed romance. She felt out of place being on the receiving end of romantic gestures, and none of her previous dates had really enjoyed her attempts at romance. She often wondered if she’d do better at dating if she acted more like the girls in the rom-com movies that her Ma liked.
But with Maura, Jane seemed unable to do wrong.
But even with that, she’d been surprised when Maura had suggested a six month anniversary dinner. It hadn’t seemed like something the blonde would suggest, but apparently Jane didn’t know her... best friend? Girlfriend? Could she call her a Girlfriend if they’d never talked about it or made it official? Either way, maybe Jane didn’t know her as well as she thought she did.
But here they were, with Jane in a dress, of all things, in a fancy restaurant, sat opposite each other and doing sappy couple things, like feeding each other bites of their dishes.
“Ah... that’s Frankies ring, hang on.” Jane felt bad answering her phone on a date, but Frankie didn’t often call her unless it was serious.
“Frankie? Wait, slow down! Slow... o-okay... Okay, I’ll ask Maura if she wants to come too. Yeah, okay. I’ll text you if I’m coming.” Jane hung up and turned her attention back to Maura, biting her bottom lip.
“Frankie caught a case. Double Homocide and apparently he’s a witness that won’t talk to any of the male officers there so... He’s wondering if I could go over to give it a try? Thought maybe we could go together, since we’re technically on a... a date?”
