Since the newspapers in my county don’t care, let’s try it here:

My name is Alex Dunn and I’m tired of being ignored by the local media. I’m an autistic adult living in Randolph County, and I’ve been working over the past year to be an advocate for my community, from the local level to nationally. Sadly, I’ve had a very negative experience from many candidates in this Sheriff’s election, including incumbent Mr. Seabolt. I’ve asked, both in this and the previous election, what procedures police officers in this county are trained to use to maximize the safety of the disabled people they encounter who are in crisis and received no answer from any of them in the numerous times I asked them for this information. I asked because many times an officer is called to handle these situations in America, the result is the disabled person being shot and killed or being restrained in the prone position, which is dangerous not just for the disabled person, who depending on their size may be suffocated, but also the officer because they can be injured because this position often makes the distress of the disabled person worse. I wanted to open a dialogue with the candidates and try to help my community in this county, so imagine my frustration when I’m being stonewalled at every turn, including by the candidates who claim they want to hear the questions and concerns of voters. I vote in every local election, and I actually voted for Mr. Seabolt the first time around. However, I feel none of the candidates in this election have listened to my concerns or taken them seriously. I always tell them that I’m asking these questions as an autistic person so they can understand why I care deeply about this, yet I feel this is the source of their apathy. They simply lose respect for me the instant they realize I’m disabled, and decide my concerns aren’t important. I realize this may not be the whole truth, but that is how it feels when I’m constantly receiving the brush off. I do hope this prompts at least one candidate in this election to realize that disabled have concerns at the local level and we do vote. I present this open challenge to the candidates not as a call out piece, even though that is inherently what it will be taken as but as an opportunity for the candidates one last time to let me have this dialogue and a chance for us to learn from each other.

Critics had called the plan to consolidate polling places in Randolph County a brazen attempt to suppress the black vote in Georgia's governor's race.

"This is a victory, but by no means should anyone relax. All of this happened under the leadership of Brian Kemp," Edward Dubose, a member of the NAACP's National Board of Directors said. "We need to follow the trail all the way back and search out all of these attempts to set us back in voting rights."
