Phonology is fun
I've just learnt that in rapid speech, thanks to synchronic regressive alveolar stop assimilation, word-final /t/ in 'Great' in 'Great Britain' becomes /p/, resulting in realisation, in broad transcription, /ɡreɪp brɪtn/ (that is, homophonous with 'Grape Britain') and it makes me ridiculously happy for some reason.
