Valiant little random rainbow, doing its best to show up on the wall of my office, which is actually a dark burgundy, not this hideous pink. To be honest, the burgundy is equally hideous, one of my worst decor choices ever, and heretofore, rainbows have not appeared here. I saw this one a few days ago, but I wanted to try to filter the wall color to something like accuracy. No luck, so here’s the rainbow anyway, trying, like all of us, to make the best of what’s left of the awfulness that has been 2020.

Random rainbow on a closet door. It’s been quite a while since one showed up, and I needed a positive sign today.

I’m having a bit of a struggle with a chronic physical thing that I don’t like to talk about because it’s extremely boring, not life-threatening or anything dramatic like that, but right now pain is making it hard to work or do any of my usual fun things like knitting and art. It will resolve -- it always does, but the time frame is unpredictable -- but in the meantime, if you’re waiting for the next chapter of anything, thank you for your patience.

Random rainbow trying to hide on an old shipping envelope behind the leg of my desk.

Hi, there. It’s been a while.

So this morning there is a really bright, intensely vivid rainbow on my office floor, right in front of my desk. You can see my ugly builder’s-beige carpet around the edge of the paper I put there to show the colors better.

Actually, this WAS right in front of my desk. In the last 5-10 minutes, I photographed it and started this post. Now it has vanished. Also, I’m at my desk around this time at least five days a week, and while there have been a few rainbows on my office floor or wall, there’s never been one right here, basically telling me to get to work.

This whole thing is CRAZY, right? That’s why I take pictures of them, here in the office, in the living room, once in the entirely windowless hall, and maybe twice in my bathroom at the other end of the house. Don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the kitchen. Maybe my ghost doesn’t like to cook. Wherever they appear, I always see them as positive, encouraging messages. They’re pretty, and they make me smile.

So, happy Random Rainbow Day from my ghost and me.

Here’s an odd one — a shy little random rainbow on the drawer of a chest in my office, barely visible on the wood. I slid a piece of paper in to make it easier to see. Haven’t had many rainbows lately; I can only conclude that my ghost has been busy elsewhere. I’m glad he’s back — I use the pronoun deliberately, because the various manifestations seem to be related to Danny Phoenix. I could be wrong though.

Anyway, whoever it is, it’s always a playful and friendly spirit.

EXTREMELY weird place for a random rainbow to show up. I caught a glimpse of it sort of between the desk leg and computer tower and stuck a piece of white paper there so you could see it. It’s been a long while since the rainbows have been active, so I’m happy to see one again. Hopefully, it means my good ghosts are back. I could use the support right now.
