False Piety
Jesus was always calling out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees (actors) and their leaven, emphasising the importance of true piety.
When we say ‘true’ piety, that also means there is something called 'false’ piety. This false piety might be easier to recognise (unfortunately). While we cannot pinpoint every action that will allow us to discern wolves in the sheep fold, here are 4 lenses that should make you suspicious of any so-called 'Christian’
1. Doesn’t understand/believe in the authority and necessity to study (not just read) holy scriptures.
2. Doesn’t have private prayer time.
3. Doesn’t exhibit the fruits of the indwelling of the Holy Ghost (these fruits can be counterfeited, so they are third in order)
4. They do not have a relationship with God. They are karmic creatures, trying to be saved by works.
These lenses are based on the fact that scriptures are clear about the transformation caused by the in-dwelling of the holy spirit (change in desire and perspective). While many Christians are still being saved, and need our support and encouragement, we must be vigilant against professing Christians who do not exhibit the mark of the indwelling of the holy Ghost. They have come to steal, kill and destroy.
The church was bought at a price and is not a hangout. The ancient Christians were referred to as the people who bore the claw marks of the lion (God). In order that the church may dedicate itself to service, denying itself and carrying it’s cross, we must be vigilant against the subtle deceptions of prosperity, comfort and exclusiveness that has unfortunately penetrated our homes, societies and most disturbingly, the body of Christ
"To really love a woman, To understand her you gotta know her deep inside. Hear every thought see every dream, And give her wings when she wants to fly. Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms, You know ya really love a woman... So tell me have you ever really, Really really ever loved a woman?" - Bryan Adams #randommorningthoughts #greatestlovesongsofalltime #BryanAdams #1995 #softrock #HaveYouEverReallyLovedAWoman
Might just change the music on my blog to something a bit more laid back/dark. Not sure cuz i love the bubbly sound of the first song.
Is it okay to feel like you deserve better in general but not out of arrogance, pride, or anything of the sort?
I am obsessed with cheesesteaks. I would be completely satisfied if I could eat a greasy one everyday.
What is about her I love? On your twelfth hour of slumber, You'll place your hand beneath my thigh. You'll take back the heat you gave me earlier in the night. You always give. I will always give to you, What you instilled in me. If our passion is heat, Then love, You give me fever.
