The Ranji Trophy is set to begin on January 13 by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The teams, separated into six groups, will play their matches in Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Trivandrum, and Chennai after a five-day quarantine and two-day practise.
After another round of five-day quarantine, Kolkata has been designated for the knockouts, which are set to begin on February 20. The quarter-finals will take place from February 28 to March 3, with the semi-finals taking place from March 8 to 12. The final will take place from March 16 to 20.
In Elite Group C, domestic giants Mumbai, Karnataka, and Delhi are joined by Tamil Nadu, Railways, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, and Goa, while in Elite Group D, defending champions Saurashtra are joined by Tamil Nadu, Railways, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, and Goa. Bengal, who finished second last year, will compete in Elite Group B alongside Vidarbha, Haryana, Kerala, Tripura, and Rajasthan. Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh will make up the Plate group.
Meanwhile, the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be hosted in Lucknow, Guwahati, Baroda, Delhi, Haryana, and Vijayawada, with the knockouts beginning on November 16 in Delhi. The Vijay Hazare Trophy venues have still to be announced by the BCCI.
