Ranjit Chowdhry was an Indian actor, known for his roles in television and theatre. He appeared in two episodes of The Office, as Vikram, a telemarketer who worked with Michael and was briefly hired for The Michael Scott Paper Company.
He was born on September 19, 1955, in Mumbai, India. Ranjit has died on April 15, 2020, at the age of 64.

Khoobsurat actor Ranjit Chowdhry died at 65 in the US
Ranjit Chowdhry, a writer and actor of the Bollywood fraternity who played the iconic role of Rakesh Roshan’s younger brother in movie Khoobsurat died on April 15th. He was 65 years old.
The news was put up on Instagram by Ranjit’s half-sister and a well-known theatre personality Raell Padamsee. Raell is Mumbai based actress who has earned great name and fame in the theatre industry. She wrote on Instagram, “For all those who knew Ranjit, the funeral will be held tomorrow and a gathering to celebrate his life n share his stories on May 5th. With love, Raell.”
The son of Mumbai theatre heavyweight Pearl Padamsee and the step son of ad film maverick, Alyque Padamsee, Ranjit is also remembered for his iconic role in Ben Kingsley’s Gandhi. He played the role of MA Jinnah.
As reported by a Bollywood digital magazine, Ranjit moved to the US in 1980 and was an active writer and actor there as well. He played the role of Jagan Gupta in Hrithikesh Mukherjee’s iconic film, Khubsoorat. A great song from the movie, in which Ranjit appeared with Rekha, Sare Niyam Tod Do is very popular till date among all age groups.
Ranjit worked in a number of films in Bollywood including the super hit movie Khatta Meetha and Baaton Mein directed by Basu Chatterjee. He also worked in some popular US Shows including The Office, after he moved to the US. He played the role of Vikram. It is reported that he was the screenplay writer for Deepta Mehta’s Sam & Me. Ranjit earned a mention in the Cannes Festival for his contribution to the film.
He was an iconic actor and writer and equally impressive personality. Bollywood wishes a tribute to him on his death.
