I’M TAKING REQUESTS
Photoshop GIF Tutorial
This is a tutorial for ranneechan and for anyone who wants to make a GIF but does not know how to use Photoshop or any other programs.
In this tutorial, I will be using only 2 programs:
Photoshop CS6 (This is the latest edition, but you can use any other edition).
VLC Media Player.
In this tutorial, I will be using Detective Conan Episode 154 as an example and GIF the scene at the end with Makoto Kyogoku.
Steps
Openyour video in VLC.
Select View from the Upper Tab.
Select Advanced Controls from the Menu that appears.
Four new sets of controls appear. The second one looks like a Camera button. This button takes screenshotsfrom the video.
Check Photo Below.
Goto the part you want to GIF from the video and press Play.
Keep pressing the Camera Button many times to take screenshots from the whole scene you want to GIF.
You will notice that a small picture will appear on the Upper Left Tab of the screen that shows you which photo you screenshot from the video.
Check Photo Below.
Close your VLC player and open CS6 Photoshop.
Press on File from the Upper Tab.
Press on Open from the Menu. A module will appear.
Select all the pictures you want in your GIF from the pictures VLC took.
Check Photo Below.
If your GIF requires 10 photo, you need to open the 10 photos at the same time to get something messy like the photo below.
Minimize all the photos (square around the minimizing buttons) except the first 2 (arrow).
Notice the Big rectangle on the right of the screen. It is called the Layer Tab. If you do not see it when you open your Photoshop, press F7.
Check Photo Below.
Look at the Vertical Tab on the left. Press on the first button: The Arrow Button.
You have Picture 1 and Picture 2 of your GIF open. The rest are minimized. With the cursor (that is now an arrow), drag Picture 2 and put it above picture 1.
Check Photo Below.
Picture 1 is called Vlcsnap-2015-03-14-20h05m41s107.png in the below picture. Picture 2 is called Vlcsnap-2015-03-14-20h05m41s108.png in the below picture.
In the window of Picture 1, you now have Picture 1 + Picture 2.
Keep dragging on Picture 2 to put it on the edge, EXACTLY above Picture 1, until you no longer see Picture 1.
Exit Original Picture (108.png not 107.png) from the window of Picture 2 (X MARK).
In the Layer Tab, you now have the Background (Picture 1) and Layer 1 (Picture 2).
You cannot see Picture 1 anymore because Picture 2 is exactly on top of it.
Check Photo Below.
This is how your Layer 1 should look like. Picture 2 is EXACTLY on top of Picture 1 (Background).
Do this for all the rest of the pictures. Let’s say your GIF should have 10 pictures. You already finished 2 pictures. Do this for the other 8.
Remember that the rest of the pictures are minimized. Just maximize one of them at the time. Example: Maximize Picture 3, drag it on top of Picture 2 and you will get Layer 2. Do the same for the rest.
When you do this, put the pictures in order. Picture 3 before Picture 4 etc..
Press on Window from the Upper Tab.
Select Timeline (or Animation if you are using an older version of Photoshop) from the Menu that appears.
Check Photo Below. My GIF has 11 pictures. I did this and got Background + 10 Layers.
Press Create Frame Animation from the new rectangle that appeared on the bottom.
Press the Button next to the RED STAR.
From the Menu that appears, press Make Frames from Layers.
Check Photo Below.
These are the pictures that will form your GIF.
Under each picture, there is a time. Press on it and adjust the time. (I adjusted it to 0.2 seconds per photo).
Press on a Once (a button under your timeline of pictures) and select Forever. This way your GIF will play forever.
If you want to test your GIF, Press Play.
Check Photo Below.
Press File again from the Uppermost Tab.
Instead of pressing Open (like you did before), press Save for Web.
You can adjust the size of your GIF. You can make it smaller to avoid large-sized GIF that will take forever to upload on websites. (You can put 240 next to H and W will change automatically).
Press Save. A window will appear.
Name your GIF and select where you want to save your GIF. You can save it on your desktop.
Check Photo Below.
... and here it is! It is actually easier than you think and does not require a lot of time, only few minutes. Once you do it once or twice, you will do it automatically. Let me know if it works out for you. Ask me for more details if things did not work out! Happy Giffing!!! ^_^
♥♥♥♥ Happy Birthday ♥♥♥♥
Thank you dear!!! ♥♥♥♥
I did read it but the sites I read it on cause sometimes I would use mangareader on my phone and mangahere on the laptop both said its ongoing and the end was surely not one that screamed "The end!!" LOL. I thought it was just another cliffhanger. Btw which program do you use to create your gifs?? I was actually looking for one that's incredibly simple for a beginner.
I won't say it was a cliffhanger because things were resolved, but File 49 is definitely a routine day for the characters and so people probably thought the story did not end.Unfortunately, I don't use an easy program for GIF making. I use Photoshop. However, Photoshop is not hard to use to make GIFs and so if you want, I can write a detailed post about how to use it for GIF making with images and so.. maybe it will be helpful to many users too.
Ofc I read it, curiousity killed me though it took me really long to finish it but I guess it was because the chapters were really long. I really liked Murao's story too, I liked Tanaka sensei too, poor bb. The manga isn't finished yet, so we still have hope for an happy ending with him?? Umm let's see, I don't know much realistic shoujo mangas but I recently re-read Akuma to Love song because something in Ao haru ride reminded me of it, maybe its the fact that both Kou and Meguru were jerks.
Oh no! The manga is completed already: The last chapter was chapter 49, did you read that?I had a problem reading all of it too because there is 43 pages (I am accustomed to the 16-18 pages per manga chapter).I will check Akuma soon as per your recommendation!! Thank you!:-)
I have like a serious problem with you and my dashboard. Idk wut Ao haru ride is but because of your liveblogging, I'm fcking loving it. Those gifs are killing me so much, its like I got a new otp and idk wut the anime is about but its now a goal for me to start it. Thank you. This isn't an ask but I just wanted to let you know that ;)
Hello! Thanks for passing by and expressing your thoughts! My friend suggested this for me. I never watched romantic/shoujo genre before because I think most of them are cliche. I totally fell for this one and it is a short series: 12 episodes + 1 ova and few extra manga chapters to read. I have a new OTP, even though they struggle a lot and they are not even in a relationship. Let me know if you watch it. I would love to get your feedback!Oh.. and sorry if I am posting too much and spamming your wall with my Ao Haru Ride posts. :-)
oh gooood oh
