Yet another Ranni!Reader SAGAU Ring brainrot:

You know how zookeepers have to distract the animals so they can administer medicine? R!R distracting Dottore from his usual 'antics' with their knowledge of Glintstone and the Primeval Current.

Dottore has high Intelligence, so he'd obviously take to Glintstone sorcery pretty well. (Personal headcanon: 'Intelligence' in the context of sorcery is more an indicator of one's ability to grasp new ways of thinking.) And learning about the Primeval Current, AKA the giant cosmic primordial thing somewhere among the stars? The force that grants enlightenment before destroying the one peering into it? I feel like Dottore would make an entire new segment just to see what happens to it when it peers into the Primeval Current...

You know that giant strip of stars that looks like the Northern Lights when it's night? That could tie in with the Primeval Current :3

And I agree; Dottore is very intelligent, dare I even say wise, but even he is not immune to the gathering of new knowledge, and from a Deity no less.

And yes, he definitely would make a segment to yeet into it. Or just any old Fatuus, he doesn't mind whatsoever at all, really.

So I've been having Thoughts(TM) about Diluc and Ranni!Reader (because torturing Genshin men is apparently my new favorite hobby)

To preface, I always imagine R!R in an Imposter AU, specifically with a fake Creator already on the throne. A fake that’s cozied up to all the influential people of Teyvat, Diluc included. Before the fake Creator was revealed as, well, fake, they and Diluc shared a close relationship. To the point that the imposter verbally toyed with the idea of finding a blacksmith of sufficient skill to recreate the Darkmoon Greatsword for ‘someone special.’ 

Naturally, all of this comes crashing down when R!R is executed and revealed as the true Creator. When the imposter realizes that there’s no salvaging the situation, they drop the act and reveal that no, none of it was ever real to them. Diluc was a convenient means to an end, a way to foster subconscious goodwill and approval in the people of Mondstadt. 

When it comes out that R!R is still alive, just in a doll body, Diluc is initially overjoyed. There’s still hope! He can get to know and befriend the true Creator, not a heartless mimic! It didn't occur to Diluc that everything the imposter did was to make themselves more palatable to their worshipers. The fact of the matter is, the face the imposter presented to Diluc is nothing like R!R’s actual personality.

Diluc meets R!R, dressed in their plain white and blue robes - aside from the easily-stained fabric, the outfit is simple and practical. No accessories, save for the simple clip holding their hair back. A far cry from the elegant wardrobe of the imposter. R!R watches him with cold eyes, bored eyes.

Where the imposter presented themselves as soft and reserved, R!R is cold and direct. The imposter pretended to be harmless, someone who couldn’t hurt a fly; everything about R!R screams danger, and they won’t hesitate to make it even more obvious. 

The imposter led Diluc to believe that they also hated the Fatui and Abyss Order. When Diluc apologizes for forcing R!R to resort to these factions as allies, they laugh.

“Had Teyvat welcomed me with open arms, I wouldst still findeth my way to them. We shareth the same goals - and mine own sins are quite similar to theirs.”

R!R chuckles at his shocked expression. They continue to chuckle as Diluc questions them further. So determined to find proof of his own preconceptions, only for reality to crush all of them. Yes, R!R knows the crimes committed by the Fatui and Abyss Order, and yes, they still willingly choose them as allies. 

The Tsarista is a woman after mine own heart, they say, and the Abyss harboreth the same loathing as I for the tyranny of gods.

R!R leaves the conversation, but not before issuing a warning - Diluc is not to harm either the Abyss Order or the Fatui, not while R!R is in Mondstadt. The Eclipse tribe are off-limits as well. Whether it’s Darknight business or otherwise, if R!R even suspects that Diluc has harmed their people, then it will not be solely Diluc who sufferers the consequences.

R!R leaves. And it truly hits Diluc, then: the person he loved never existed.

Ouch, poor Diluc ;-;

Still, the Imposter R!R is incredibly interesting... still, as they say, truth is sometimes worse and more confusingly odd than fiction.

Imagine Ranni!Reader openly taking Eula as her consort. Like it's common knowledge in Teyvat that only the Creator’s consort can wield the Darkmoon Greatsword, so when the people of Mondstadt see Eula with it they're in shock.

Some rando from Mondstadt: But your Grace, she's a Lawrence!

Ranni!Reader, who's still salty about the whole 'imposter' thing: And thou'rt a short-sighted halfwit and a bigot, but t'would appear that hasn't stopped thee from making a fool of thyself.

Rando from Mondstadt: 😢

Some other Lawrences come around trying to claim that they have the Creator's favor, but Ranni!Reader shames them in public too.

Ranni!Reader: Dearest Eula, I strip thee of the despicable name 'Lawrence.' Thine idiotic former kin have no more claim to thee or thine. Thou'rt Lady Eula of Caria now, and whatever prestige thy brought to the Lawrence, they have now lost.

The Lawrence can't do anything but fume uselessly amongst themselves, and the people of Mondstadt are finally ashamed of themselves for how they treated Eula (minus Amber, Jean, Mika, Sara from Good Hunter, basically anyone who didn't need a god to tell them not to be a dick).

Venti is crying and the other Archons are in shambles because the Creator married someone who wasn't them

Amber: YEAH YOU GO BESTIE

But I can certainly see Eula both being confused (The Creator? In love with someone like her? Hah! Ridiculous!) to later on being incredibly happy, in her own way.

Ranni!Reader's Moon is dark and cold, so it's only fitting that someone who's as frozen cold could gaze upon it; furthermore, if the Moon itself becomes large like the one in the Lands Between, and them simply sitting with Eula, gazing at it from atop the Demigod's Rise.

Perhaps also gifting the armour of the Carian Knights to Amber and Mika? Ranni!Reader wouldn't force them to leave, of course, they simply state that any Knight should be well equipped. The same goes for Jean, who is also thankful for it, although she would only wear the gauntlets, simply because her current outfit means a lot to her and her family.

So yeah; good thought, my friend! Eula is always a pleasure to have around :3

So Ranni is the one summoning the 'oath-sworn' ghostly summons in Rennala's second phase, yeah? That whole phase is Ranni, but that's not what this is about. That spectral oath-sworn dragon is almost definitely Adula, who swore a knightly oath to Ranni's Dark Moon (also I headcanon Adula as female, but you can ignore that if you want)

Imagine Ranni!Reader tries to demonstrate this summoning ability of theirs (lets say to the Fatui) but because R!R has literal god powers in Teyvat, instead of a ghostly shade of a dragon, they summon Adula in the flesh.

Fatui: *silent shock and awe*

R!R: *also shocked but hiding it better* ...Everyone, this is Glintstone Dragon Adula. I trust ye shall welcome her as ye hath welcomed me...

Adula: *lost in every sense of the word* Where am I and how did I get here???

According to Lannseax's Glaive, ER dragons are also capable of taking human form. Or in Teyvat, a half-dragon form.

The Creator (re)gains a bodyguard in the form of an ice mage wielding a spectral, frosty claymore - a majestic half-dragon with white horns and a white-scaled tail, both of which are studded with strange blue crystals.

Only Teyvat's astrologers, attuned deeply to the stars, notice the life-force of the cosmos themselves radiating from those living crystals. But of course such a creature is blessed in this way, they conclude - she is, after all, the Oath-Sworn Dragon of the Creator, favored even over Morax himself.

How does Zhongli react to this? I'm genuinely asking, because I enjoy seeing people emotionally torture Zhongli in SAGAU, and I like your writing and imagination.

Zhongli is a very, very patient man: and above all else, he is not one to be jealous or envious. Only in specific circumstances, like maybe envying Qiqi's ability to forgot, over his own memory, is one example.

The same goes, in this case, for The Creator: He is, at most, disheartened from not being held in highest regards. But, he knows, this is a being from beyond the veil; they, in particular, have a companion just as he did. Difference being, of course, is that while Azhdaha is now imprisoned under the mountains, the Glintstone Dragon Adula is alive and very much well.

Perhaps, then, he is envious of that. But alas, he has long since toned down himself in regards to fanaticism; at the end of the day, Adula is favoured more. And, that is that.

Sorry for the wait, I just realized I needed to get my brainrots in order (?) and I have a few to share today:

- Canon Ranni and the Tsaritsa are a lot alike, divine-adjacent royalty associated with frost/Cryo. Also, Cryo users all seem to have a contradiction or irony in their life, i.e. Kaeya being a Khaenrian who protects Mondstadt, Diona a bartender who hates drinkers, Rosaria a nun who doesn't worship the gods, Aloy a Sony character in a Chinese animesque game, etc. The Tsaritsa is a goddess of love who has no love left for her people, a god who is (possibly) rebelling against the very order that usurped the Dragon Sovereigns and propped her kind up in the first place. Ranni (and by extension Ranni!Reader) is an Empyrean, chosen by the Greater Will as a potential new vessel for their will, for the Order they have forcibly imposed on The Lands Between, yet Ranni turns her back on them and forges her own path, no matter the cost.

All of this to say, imagine R!R and the Tsaritsa properly meeting for the first time, each laying their cards on the table (to an extent) and oh, finding something of a kindred spirit in the person opposite them. I can just imagine R!R saying:

"I think we shall get along just fine, sister."

Word spreads, and R!R proceeds to never clarify if they meant it literally.

- So the original gods of Teyvat were the Dragon Sovereigns. Let's assume the Creator made them as well. What if their form reflects that?

I imagine R!R initially wakes up in Teyvat in their original body, AKA the flesh they once discarded during the Night of Black Knives. When they recreate the events of that Night with some poor fool in Godwyn's place (I know I orginally said Focalores, but lately I lean towards Raiden or the imposter themselves) their new doll body more closely resembles their original form - you know, red-haired and Just Big like their parents (still with four arms, though). Half of their ghostly face is sort of overlaid on their physical one, like a spookier Phantom of the Opera mask.

Again, all of this to say: imagine R!R with spectral horns and a spectral dragon tail. Now they match with Adula. R!R would be imposing even without them, but with them, they command attention, perhaps even fear.

- Speaking of Adula, I wanna expand on that one brainrot I sent - in Teyvat, Adula has a half-dragon form, tail and horns and claws and all. My idea was 'Rhaenyra Targaryan, but pale and scary apex predator with white hair.' And as I was playing my catalysts only Genshin account, I realized something - the face I was picturing would look remarkably similar to Neuvillette.

Like, half-dragon Adula would be much scruffier than him - imagine the Lazuli Robe, but with a good portion of the skirt unevenly torn off, and something like Rennala's leggings underneath. No gloves or shoes, just simple cloth wrappings. A veritable ragamuffin of a grown woman, the Creator’s draconic equivalent of Scary Dog Privilege, but between the white hair, stoicism and intimidating aura, she looks like she could be the Chief Justice’s long-lost daughter.

Rumours spread, and Neuvillette neither confirms nor denies them, because - well, he doesn't remember, and for all he knows, Adula is related to him somehow.

I've run out of brain juice for the moment, so I will pose you a question: how do you think Neuvillette feels about Furina? I don't mean shipping, but like, what does he think of her as, in relation to him?

Exasperated, maybe. Furina is an Archon, and very much flamboyant. Neuvillette is devoted to his duties and the nation he works for. To me, I see Neuvillette as sort of a tired, almost fatherly/brotherly figure to Furina. Sure, you can hear the annoyance, but I'd like to think he's gotten used to it. It's just his Furina shows herself to others.

Side note: I don't really mind people shipping them. I can certainly see it, though; it's just not for me, really xd

Ranni!Reader (R!R) thoughts and brainrots: (cw R!R uses gender neutral pronouns but feminine honorifics, Traveler Lumine and Abyss Prince Aether, no Y/N because it's immersion breaking for me, sorry!)

- Thinking about it, golden blood doesn't make sense for for R!R. Canon Ranni is the antithesis of the Golden Order. Blood that sparkles with stars and swirling galaxies is much more fitting.

- Sumeru and Snezhnaya, the only nations who didn't participate in the hunt, close their borders and refuse to let anyone in or out. R!R is secretly meeting with the Dendro and Cryo Archons, to learn about their predecessor from Irminsul and make 'plans' with the Fatui.

- A fake Creator was on the throne when R!R descends? The fake had so many 'imposters' put to death that she didn't even bother to attend R!R's disastrous execution. When the surviving Archons went to confront the fake Creator, she was mysteriously afflicted with Deathblight. The Archons didn't mourn her, only the possible chance for atonement by executing her themselves.

- Teyvat possesses knowledge of R!R's life, like their parents meeting on the battlefield, Radagon leaving Rennala for Marika, the existence of their shadow Blaidde, R!R's demigod step-family and the fate of their siblings. It's... invasive and disconcerting all in one, but it helps to convince R!R that they are, in fact, connected to this world in some way.

- R!R being in their original body once more when waking up in Teyvat, and post-execution occupying a doll body that's even better and more life-like than their old one. Their ghostly face, like their blood, is made up of stars and galaxies. R!R makes Sandrone's entire year when they compliment her abilities.

- R!R calling Dottore 'Seluvis' and Childe 'Blaidde' by complete accident, and refusing to explain.

- R!R being an excellent artist! Drawing Omens and Misbegotten from memory for a curious Dottore. Explaining the history of the Golden Order, the Shattering, the House of Caria, and the nonsense that is Radagon and Marika somehow being the same person.

- R!R can't stand being called 'Your Grace.' It reminds them too much of Queen Marika and the Golden Order they sought to defy. As far as they're concerned, they're a Lunar Princess first and the Creator second. Either call them 'Lady Ranni' or don't address them at all.

- R!R's first followers in Teyvat are the Misbegotten Hilichurls from the Eclipse Tribe! They somehow understand R!R, and R!R can kinda understand them? After Teyvat's Night of Black Knives, Lumine introduces them to Ella Musk. Once R!R can fully understand the Hilichurls, they become R!R's intel network across Teyvat - they even paint simple Carian Crests on their masks and weapons.

And Ella's mind is blown because the Creator themself acknowledges her work? And wants to learn from her?? And she can freely practice with Hilichurls that aren't a danger to her??? Truly, she's brought honor to the Musk name.

- Blaidde! He's here because he's R!R's shadow. Teyvat knows some things about R!R, but they mistakenly interpret Blaidde as R!R's mortal enemy. The Archons don't realize R!R is alive in their doll body, and capture Blaidde to execute him in the Creator's name. R!R shows up, throws several Dark Moons in their faces, and rescues their sibling.

R!R: Was mine own death not enough for ye? Thou must taketh mine brother as well?

Archons: *surprised Pikachu face*

Then they both leave, and the Archons are in shambles because they've betrayed their Creator again.

- Blaidde becoming sort of friends/sparring buddies with Childe and/or Capitano. Dottore being fascinated by this 'Half-Wolf' and being forbidden from trying anything by no less than two separate gods (R!R and Tsaritsa).

- Xiao comes to apologize for his part in the hunt, expecting no forgiveness, and R!R doesn't give him any... because in R!R's opinion, the fault lies with Morax, who used him as a weapon. R!R has an unfavorable view of gods in general, and while they don't enjoy being the god of an unfamiliar world, they are willing to use that authority to declare every one of Morax’s contracts null and void, not just his contract with Xiao.

Zhongli feels the change, in some way, and his heart sinks in despair.

- Spirit Calling! R!R fashions a Spirit Calling Bell. There are no Rebirth Monuments or Spirit Ashes in Teyvat, but given what they've learned from Nahida, the Ley Lines might serve a similar purpose. R!R brings Xiao to the Guili Plains, briefs him on the plan, and has him ring the bell as a test. The four deceased Yakshas are summoned, masked and armed, awaiting orders.

Remember the sidequest with Aurellia the Spirit Jellyfish, where you reunite her with her sister?

In the end R!R let's Xiao keep the Spirit Calling Bell, not only as a reward for his help, but to further foster his goodwill towards them, and to make him stronger for the coming battle against the heavens.

- R!R teaching non-Vision holders how to use magics from the Lands Between. Teaching Childe thorn sorceries. Infusing the Abyss Prince's golden sword with R!R's fragment of Destined Death, and gifting Lumine with the Godslaying Blackflame Ashes of War. Crafting a makeshift seal and teaching Pantalone 'Catch Flame' just for funsies. Teaching Aether and Lumine to cast gravity sorceries, or Elden Stars and Founding Rain of Stars - because the idea of star-children raining destructive stars down on Celestia is amusing to R!R.

Yes.

Not much I can say in addition, honestly! Although, I can propose one thing: what weapons would be given to those Ranni! Reader is alright with?

So Ranni's an Empyrean, yeah? We know from in-game dialogue that Empyreans are capable of becoming gods of a new age and forging a new order that governs the world. But ostensibly, only some of them are tied to Outer Gods, and are possibly vessels for their OG's will?

How would the Archons react to Ranni!Reader, their Creator reborn, being a vessel for the will of an even greater divinity? A literal living moon that R!R respects more than the Archons themselves?

They're surprised.

I'm joking, they're flabbergasted xd

It's strange to imagine that their Creator themselves is an envoy for the Moon itself.

And even stranger now, to gaze at the moon, and imagine it living. Not breathing, no. Just aware.

*Ranni!Reader... well, speaks in 'Ye Olde English'. It's certainly a surprise but, thankfully, the Traveler and the Abyssal Heir quickly pick up on it.

Ranni!Reader, to the Archons: Art thou no more brain than stone?

Circling back to Ranni!Reader, while we never see Ranni herself in action, I'm thinking that Ranni!Reader has a large arsenal of spells (see: Comet Azur, Rennala's Full Moon and Ranni's Full Moon, amongst others) and maybe, the Dark Moon Greatsword?

*Provided they don't gift it to their consort, first. Then again, imagining Lumine with it and Aether using Elden Stars also tickles my fancy xd

*Perhaps this time, with the body, the entirety of their face will be in it. Granted, they've grown used to it, so that'll be up in the air.

*Also, if anyone wants to write for this or add on, feel free, I'm not taxing you!
