Small Holsom Excerpt

“What do you need, Justin? Talk to me.” Holster whispers and Justin doesn’t know how to say that he doesn’t want to think, he doesn’t want to be in his head.

So he does the only thing he knows will help and leans in, pressing their lips together hard enough that their teeth clash together.

It’s a few seconds before Holster kisses back, soft and hesitant compared to Justin’s desperate and fast. Once they get past the initial awkwardness, something clicks and oh. Two years and who knows how many partners can make all the difference, because it’s good. Holster takes the lead and Justin lets him, going easily when Holster leads him over to the bed. He lays down on the bed, pulling Holster down on top of him.

“Easy.” Holster says gently, but Justin doesn’t want easy. He just wants to kiss Holster until he doesn’t feel so awful.

Let 👏🏼 Ransom 👏🏼 be 👏🏼 a 👏🏼 bisexual 👏🏼 disaster 👏🏼

I feel like a LOT of Holsom fics I’ve read have Ransom as someone who doesn’t figure out his sexuality until Holster confesses he likes Ransom. And these are great, but my boy Justin Oluransi deserves more. Let him panic because he sits between a cute girl and a cute boy in one of his lectures and he needs to concentrate, damn it. Let him dance with boys at kegsters. Let him have a teeny tiny meltdown when he abruptly realizes he has a crush on Holster and then another bigger meltdown when Holster officially comes out as bi. Let freak out about what he’s going to wear when he knows Tater is coming over. Let him try to be cool when he flirts with Holster but fail miserably. I guess the point I’m trying to make is that Adam Birkholtz is only one half of the two bisexual disasters that make up Holsom and it should be written as such.

Little things that Holster does for Ransom

listens when he gets really excited about something science related, even though he might not completely understand it

does a ton of research on different breathing techniques and works through them with Ransom to find the ones that work best for him

sneaks into the bathroom to leave cute notes for Ransom in the steam on the mirror when he’s taking a shower

hides his flashcards when he knows Ransom needs to take a break

pulls Ransom onto his lap literally everywhere. This boy has not sat in a chair since his frog year send help

calls Ransom’s mom every couple of weeks to let her know how Ransom’s doing and catch up on the family gossip

holds Ransom’s hand when it’s cold outside (just to keep his hand warm, obviously)

argues with Ransom about his future but then supports him 100% in his decisions 

Leaves snacks and bottles of water in Ransom’s backpack on days he knows are going to be really stressful- usually with a cute note 

Actively lowers his volume when he’s speaking with an anxious Ransom- this boy’s normal volume is like a five or six on an average person’s loudness scale so it takes a bit of work 

Sings silly songs to Ransom to make him laugh/smile (sometimes it’s because he’s sad, sometimes it’s because Holster really loves his smile and his laugh and the way his eyes-)

Actually serenades Ransom with serious songs

Goes and waits for Ransom when he has night classes so he can walk Ransom home

Later, he waits for Ransom to be done with work so that way he doesn’t have to take the train home alone

Sends Ransom cute pictures throughout the day just because he knows they’ll make Ransom smile

Gives Ransom his jacket whenever he even looks like he might be kind of cold

Never tries to distract Ransom when he’s really trying to concentrate on something 

Compliments Ransom on things besides his appearance because yes, Ransom is gorgeous but there are so many things that Holster loves about him

Sometimes he’ll randomly send Ransom texts that say shit like “did you know you’re smart and amazing and I love you?” with like ten heart emojis and Ransom has to stop what he’s doing because he gets flustered

Generally takes care of Ransom and makes sure he’s practicing self care when he forgets
