Beyond blessed

How do you expect people to respect you if you don't respect your own parents? 

If you've wronged them, seek their forgiveness. If they've wronged you, be patient & ask Allah to guide them, but never ever disrespect them. You're not respecting them for their sake, but rather for the sake of Allah. 

Treat them with respect, treat them with kindness, honour them. There are countless verses and hadiths about honouring the parents. For people that have two parents, you are beyond blessed. You are beyond blessed to have two parents who love you and are there for you. So many people are tested with only having one parent, or no parents; or parents that don't care after their children. 

You're lucky to have a mother or father that yells at you and gets disappointed in you. It's because they care. I have so many friends who wish to hear the voice of their mother or father, who can't even envision what their parents look like. 

Wallaahi you are beyond blessed. Why do you dishonour them with disrespect and backbiting against them. Why do you roll your eyes at them and curse them? Why do you get annoyed at them; Was your mother not annoyed to have this creature in her stomach for 9 months, kicking and jabbing into her ribs, going through countless hours of labour, losing her beautiful figure that she had before children, not getting any sleep due to you requiring food and your diaper to be changed, plus a billion things. Why are you so distraught that your parents have done something to you? Seek patience, and handle the situation with good character. 

You are beyond blessed, open your eyes. 

May Allah bless you and I, may Allah make us the best towards our parents and our family members, and those whom we are under the care of. May Allah protect them and guide them, may Allah honour them.
