Hey, I just wanted to tell you that your blog is sooo good, thank you for your content! I know you already have a reading list to finish, but have you by any chance read 'Raphael, painter in Rome'? I'm curious about the historical accuracy in this one, do you know if it gets the details about painters' workshops right?

Thank you!  I have not read it yet, though someone gifted me another book by the author, Oil and Marble, which is about Michelangelo during the same period, and which I heard is relatively accurate?  In any case, I’ve now added this Raphael one to my list.

Workshops are very interesting to study because we simultaneously know so much and so little about them.  If you’re interested, I could recommend a few articles?  I have a few specifically about Raphael from a seminar I took on him last semester, too.

I’m trying to write this final paper for my seminar on Raphael and although I know exactly what I want to say (because I did a presentation on it) I fully can’t put it into words and also have the constant dread that what I’m writing isn’t original (even though it is). Also my space bar is sticking and it’s driving me mad.
