#Repost @jacksimpsoncouture with @repostapp ・・・ Grey flannel for day transformed into evening elegance. Here for the reception at the gallery, an ensemble conveying sophisticated movement, as the fine line pencil stripe shirt provides an ideal stage for the strength of the Art Deco inspired tie. To my aesthetic, a white shirt would have drawn too much attention to itself, stifling the overall movement. The ambition for this tie was to add glamour to evening ensembles, in which the suits are either lustrous solids or bold stripes. The Art Deco style was characterized by smooth lines, geometric shapes, and streamlined forms. This style, adopted by architects and designers around the world, encompassed the Roaring Twenties to the years leading up to the Second World War. The first resurgence of interest in Art Deco appeared in the 1960s, Pop Art driven, and later in the 1980s, with that decade's focus on graphic art. I am especially influenced by those designs which incorporate rounded shapes as applied to the decorative arts, such as the Art Deco club chairs of the 1930s. The tie shown here, with its strong, symmetrical oblong shapes, each carrying varying interior horizontal and vertical fine lines, and all on a field of even dots, was developed with these design influences in mind. #artdeco #erte #paulpoiret #raphaeldelorme #bespokestyle #menscouture #artisanaltailoring #handmadetie #igdaily #instafashion #instaphoto #maleelegance #woveninengland #savoirvivre #midcenturyelan #thejoyofdressing #ootdshare #americandesign #vintagelapelpin #mensfashion #clothesfortheconnoisseur #jacksimpsoncouture
