The Call
Raphie was training hard to become as perfect as Leonardo, it was a hard way to go but she would go it if it means she need to protect the city on her own. Training the half day, little breaks and in the night patroling the city this was how her life was going now.
She missed her father even thought she knew he was watching over them but everytime she saw a empty chair it brought her back to the horrible seconds as he shut his eyes to never wake up again.
On the other side she wished her brothers would find it in them sometime to forgive her. She forgave their words as hurtful, both sides where wrong on it and all where said in fear and anger over the unknown future ahead of them.
"Almost!" she growled as she trained once again in the lair. She couldn’t live here anymore but it still she felt better to train on this place then in the house in the forest, she was living in now.
Once again she repeated the step as suddenly her phone rung, she thought it was her boyfriend Leo from the other parallel and still different dimension.
Excited she pulled it out only to be surprised as she saw the face of Mikey showing her it was her youngest brother calling her. Her eyes filled with tears she fought with herself, she should pick up or not but in the end she pressed the green button of her t-phone and put it to her ear.
"Y-yes?" she asked with slightly broken voice.
"R-Raphie?" asked her little brother with the same broken voice on the other end of the phone. For a few seconds there was nothing but silence between them until the orange masked turtle broke it.
"I...how are you?" he asked nervously slightly shaking while sitting on the couch in his and Dontallos new home.
"I-I I am okay" she not complitly lied to him, she was okay her friends and her love gave her strengh to move on but still...she missed her brothers.
"You never where a good liar Raphie" Mikey told her smiling slightly, she didnt changed that much.
"Why..."
"I needed to hear your voice...I had a nightmare tonight and I needed" her younger brother stopped to take a deep breath holding back his tears. "I need to know if you are okay" he finished.
Silence was her answer because she remembered the many times Mikey came over at night as they where kids after his nightmare. She couldnt help herself but laugh how this never changed, but as she laughed thick tears flowed down her cheeks. Mikey was shocked first but then he started to laugh with her while crying as well. He could bet she was doing the same.
"I missed ya" red clad turtle lady stopped the laugh flash suddenly this made her younger brother whimper and hold on to the phone tighter.
"I am sorry...I didn’t ment to I...." he didnt know how to start to apologize.
"Me too Mikey...I am sorry for all the shit I said...fuck I don’t ment any of it!" she told him honest and apologized directly.
"I am sorry too! I DON’T MEAN ANY OF IT EITHER!!" he shouted in the phone crying even harder. It broke her heart to hear it.
"Mikey please calm down no matter what we are family after all" she told him trying to calming him down.
"No matter what?" asked the crying turtle man his sister shaking.
"No matter what!" she answered him smiling while tears kept flowing down her cheeks.
"I love you Raphie my small big sis" he told her giggling making Raphie chuckle over it.
"I love you too cute dumbnut" she said smiling wiping her trears from her eyes. Both started to laugh again.
Don left his lab as he heard his brother laughing and stand there listening to him talking with his sister, he sighed and felt himself smiling while watching his brother laughing and making flirty jokes like nothing happend at all.
"I think its time to go back home" he whispered to himself, while he looked around in the make shift lair in the cellar of abadoned building near the harbor.
