Everyone tries to raise awareness in this fandom about the bouts of ugly bullying that occurs, and try to be supportive of the members of the fandom that fall victim to those attacks…
…so why is it when members of the fandom point out things about the writing (the characters behaviors/attitudes/actions towards each other/other characters) that offends/upsets them, and then go on to explain why and how it relates to them personally, suddenly fans are unsympathetic/refuse to acknowledge what’s being pointed out/are incapable of understanding why they were upset (despite being provided with long explanations explaining why) and act like the fans expressing these feelings are overreacting/reading too much into stuff?
THAT’S what has really bothered me in the aftermath of the episode/ship in question. The insensitive attitude the fandom has expressed in response to the fans that were upset by the offensive way the writers chose to handle the situation. Especially after they take the time to explain why they felt that way in the first place.
