So what if they were all griffins... 2! Non-photoshopped edition!
Everyone else + explanations are underneath the cut !!!!
First up are the domestic doves!!
Originally they were all different griffins (Sakuya & Yuuya were both snow leopards, and Okosan was a cheetah) but then someone reblogged yesterday that a turkish angora fit Sakuya and you are so right. So I decided it'd be nicer if they were all domestic cats!
Thus, Ryouta is a domestic shorthaired cat, Sakuya and Yuuya are both turkish angora (although Yuuya is not epistatic white, and has black classic tabby markings), and Okosan is also a domestic shorthaired cat!
You may also notice that Ryouta has no pigeon tail but the fantails do. This is because a fantail pigeon is... kinda just a white pigeon without the fantail part. So I decided, that if a bird has significant tail feathers, they get to keep them too.
Okosan definitely had wings the whole time and I definitely didn't forget to draw them. Nope. Not me.
Next are the other doves and staff! These ones were a little harder to pick another half for
Nageki is a cougar, because those are native to North America, like mourning doves are. The colours also match pretty well, which I thought was nice.
Anghel is a sunda leopard cat, because those are native to the Philippines, like luzon bleeding-hearts are! They also happen to be very small, even smaller than domestic cats (and I think it'd be really funny if everyone had the height of their cat half).
Hitori & Kazuaki are lions! This was mostly because lions are associated with kings, and they're both king quails (and, of course, Holiday Star)! Also, cougars are sometimes called mountain lions -- relating Nageki and Hitori! I thought it would be most fitting for both of them to be lions, which probably wouldn't be too rare.... I'm sure there's numerous pigeons and cats, two king quails being lions is probably fine.
And lastly, Shuu is a bobcat. Do I have any explanation for this? Not really. But I feel like it fits.
Tohri is a tiger! Because of his head feathers being striped too. Yeah that's the only reason.
Also I think that, for the others:
Albert is a panther (jaguar specifically; because they're also dark)
Azami is a blue domestic cat (for colour alone; I think java sparrows are usually pets nowadays?)
Rabu is a cream domestic cat (same as above!)
Kenzaburou is a blue domestic cat (^^^)
Leone is a leopard (for the name; I know cockatiels can be domestic though so if he was, also a cream cat!)
Miru & Kaku are exactly the same. I don't know what they could possibly be....
