Your Brand Is a Living Thing & Not a Canva Template
I’ve been thinking a lot about what separates brands that live from those that just launch.
When we wrote our latest piece at Rare Ideas, I kept returning to one truth: branding isn’t decoration; it’s design for survival.
Every week, I meet founders who say, “We’ll do branding later, once we start making sales.” But the irony is, branding is what helps you sell. Not because it’s pretty, but because it’s coherent.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
🍃 Cheap branding costs more later. That ₹50k “logo-plus-packaging” setup might get you to market fast, but it rarely lasts. You’ll eventually pay 5x more fixing weak positioning and confused messaging.
🌊 Branding is your rhythm, not your skin. It’s how your story sounds, how your team talks, how your customer feels when they hold your product. That can’t be outsourced to a template.
