November 17th, 2013. I was able to attend the full moon performance of the Maha Ras Lila at the Shree Shree Govinda Temple of Imphal, Manipur. This particular Maha Ras Lila happens only once a year on the full moon in November. The dance celebrates and illustrates the "bhakti rasa", loving transcendental devotion between Krishna and his devotees. The Gopis seduced by Krishna are compelled to join Him in a dance of pure love. Each one wishes to have a personal connection with the Supreme that is at once personal and also dances with everything at the same moment. Taken at the, Shree Shree Govinda Temple.
