For the character ask - how about Maedhros and/or Nightwing? :D
YESSSSS, excellent choices! But you should probably send me some specific questions for them, unless you want me to answer all of them. 😂

Very silly but - I know your icon is a Regency-era lady wearing a bonnet and looking down at her book, but at first glance I keep picturing it as a roaring T-Rex :D The bonnet is the dinosaur's head!
There is nothing wrong with a little silliness and whimsy in these trying times!! You're so right ahshdj, I cannot unsee that now :') I've actually thought to myself sometimes it looks like a silhouette of some strange alien creature but a T-Rex is so accurate, even with the little book which sort of looks like a hand (perhaps the dinosaur is wearing a glove)!!
Your new icon is so lovely!! (Roaring dinosaur will also be missed though 🦖)
Thank you!!! A moment of silence for the beloved roaring dinosaur... they served me well 🥺🦖💐 but felt like it was time for a change!
I got both of them from this blog! They're fashion plates from Costume Parisien. I love this art style so much, even though it's originally.... French...... *shudders*
i just liked a bunch of your posts, sorry if you get a bunch of shadow notifications! (this is your mutual raskolnikv btw, i remade and i'm following you but i'm shadowbanned so my url doesn't show up unless you search it 😭)
Oh Helloooo!!!!!! I was wondering abt the schrodinger's notifs 😭 i actually was looking for your blog and thought you'd deactivated im so glad you're still here 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
re: your post about romance and lack of people and space, I totally agree especially that Middlemarch doesn’t fall prey to this! It’s also part of the reason why I like Persuasion lol, I like that Anne goes from her “confined” quiet life to having the literal world and the high seas at her fingertips 🌊 (this is your mutual raskolnikv btw, I remade and got shadowbanned for following too many people at once haha so I couldn’t reply to the post directly :’D)
ahh hello!! refollowed (:
yes and in austen / persuasion, there are new people meeting each other that aren't the main couple! new romances forming!
i think all those older works in general were much more full social worlds (wuthering heights notwithstanding) to be honest!
I love your photography, the photos you posted of Garibaldi Lake are gorgeous!! (this is your mutual raskolnikv btw, I remade and got shadowbanned for following too many people at once so I couldn't reply to the post directly lol)
thank you!! 🥰 and omg that sucks wth tumblr. just found your new blog and followed!
Aw thank you!! I refollowed my old mutuals (you included!) but i think tumblr doesnt notify them until i’m unshadowbanned rip. Anyway yes I was shocked by how wide Ronald C’s range is, honestly much less forced and very natural compared to several of his contemporaries (such as Laurence Olivier imo 👀). Hoping to watch more of his filmography soon!

I don't think I've seen anything pop up, no...
Well, I haven't been singing his praises for no reason! I think his range isn't often acknowledged, many people act like he only played one type of thing which isn't at all the case. And he was very natural, yes! Even in his theatre reviews from the 1910s that was mentioned and I often see modern reviews for his silent films remarking that as well.
I agree about Olivier; I think he's pretty good but certainly not on Ronnie's level. In films of that time I often find that Olivier is outacted by his co-stars. I think of Merle Oberon, Greer Garson, Joan Fontaine...
If you watch more of Ronnie's films, do tell me about it! I'd love to hear what you think!
I watched The Prisoner of Zenda because of you + your love for Ronald Coleman, it was amazing! Really loved his performance in particular 10 swashbucklers outta 10
(from: your mutual raskolnikv who remade and got shadowbanned right after 😅)
Mutual Raskolnikv! I was worried about you! Glad to hear from you again.
I am so glad you liked it! (And rather pleased that my constant campaigning is effective haha.) I love that film dearly and Ronnie is such a delight in it and gets to show so many different sides of him. It's great you enjoyed it too!
