venturium met max in college and the two remained friends ever since. jamie and meteora met back in high school, falling and managing to stay in love. jamie and venturium met in a psych ward after they happened to be hospitalized at the same time. they were each others comforts and remained close after their releases. eventually, meteora introduced jamie to venturium , and venturium introduced jamie to max, and the rest is history.
note: Meteora is part spider because he was conceived through magic.

Hope and Ivy are childhood friends turned life partners. They then met Raspberry in the park one evening, exchanging phone numbers and quickly becoming close. Before they started dating Ivy, both Hope and Raz (seperately) dated Lucy. Lucy was horrible and abusive, and both felt trapped in the relationship. After leaving him, it took both of them a long time to process how truly bad he was for them. Thankfully, they found safety and comfort in both Ivy and each other.
Hope has plant based magic that they have been teaching themself for years. Raspberry has luck based magic given to him by Hope, though he isn't really sure why. Ivy has water based magic that she was born with, though she doesn't know why as she was orphaned when she was very young and doesn't know who her birth parents were. Ivy was declawed by her adoptive parents as a means to have more control over her.
