I've been picking away, slowly but surely, at a sci-fi project that at least in its current possible form may end up being... a novella? Or something? I'm not really sure. Right now my only real goal is to add at least one mediocre sentence to the doc each day to try and figure out the actual story. What I know right now is that the one I'm working on currently is about people having to leave Earth due to the planet getting fucked beyond recognition, finding home on an abandoned space station, and trying to work through what it means to continue humanity. Which is kind of Seveneves but it's also super not (I have a lot more uh... I guess we'll say magical realism in this thing).
There's also a prequel story about the peoples who used to live on the space station and the reason why it's abandoned now, and a possible third story set long after the first two that focuses more on... let's say data hoarding at an almost incomprehensible scale. Maybe makes them all sound like, maybe cooler than they actually are? But also I think they're cool.
I feel kind of like I have a big block of stone and I'm using a hammer and blunt chisel to hack away at it. There are specific scenes/visuals that I've had in my head for years now, and I'm kind of figuring out ways to get to them, but there is also the thing in the back of my head going "okay but will this be any good, though?"
And... I think "good" really can't be the point for me. I kind of just want to make it exist before I give it any kind of value judgement. And quite honestly, it may turn out that I never really show this thing to anyone. But I wanted to talk about it a little, even with as vague as this is.
can y'all please stop reblogging shit from that 16 year old
It seems to have been mostly resolved now, but I got so mad about the tumblr thing last night that I went and started making my own website for my art and longform text posts. It looks like utter dogshit but it's mine and it rules.
wish me luck babes, I'm trying something with my website build today to see if I can set up a second blog-style containment area that I post about media to
I often forget to Post™ here but I am throwing out a late-night shout that I will have a shop update soon (this month!) with a pile of original paintings and drawings - proceeds will be divvied up between Life Expenses and my two major upcoming tech purchases of "camera that takes better photo than what I have" and "non-iPad tablet".
I will ALSO be at ANTHROCON later this summer and will have MORE originals there - mostly bigger pieces, I think, but I'll be aiming to bring some small guys as well. that collection will be divided between the art show (if I get in) and my table in the dealer's den. I am stoked to be coming back and I think it's going to be a really fun year :>
it's funny for me to interact with the vore community as someone who has 0 interest in involving real people in my kink. that is, i like all of this shit only in the context of fiction (and really, just my selfship) and the idea of someone sending an ask like "you look so tasty i just wanna gobble you up !" or "bet you wanna listen to my fat gut" is so genuinely repulsive it makes me want to scream
letting the “I don’t do fandom/fanart” mask down a little: where is the good place to put hermitcraft fanart these days? does tumblr work? I loathe to make a new twitter account even though I know that’s where a lot of creators are currently
