Very notable interview from Vice’s awesome series “The Business of Life.” This episode focused on Millennials in today’s work force and the projected trends we can look forward to in the 21st century. They’re pretty dead on with a lot of this stuff. The part where he describes the concept of people walking down the street and getting beam notifications of someone offering $30 bucks to help them move or some other quick service is basically Fiverr. Soooo....yeah Lol.

This is for all the hate I got for my original Why Howard is the official college for House Niggas and Uncle Toms: Inspired by Lee Daniels’ The Butler   post

Soror explains Howard U’s early history, plain as day. She explicates that it took years before ya’ll even had a black president, and states, in quote that ya’ll were “a negro university with overseers,” and even once you did finally get a “black” president, he still “looked white.” 

There’s also info on Oliver Howard (who was also white, and was a part of the long string of white presidents at Howard), who I referenced in my initial response. This video also addressed the prevalent need to assimilate and conform. Granted, there were some genuine white professors that wanted Howard U students to succeed, but still…your beloved Howard U’s history. 

Please be aware of your institution’s history. You may not like the, but it is what it is.
