Weekly dump of my Tim and Ratman [Weretober] designs!

I think the best part of this chunk is both Tim's actually present for a couple of these and that in the last one, Ratman is ALSO going through a real rough time. Equality, you know? They both get to have a bad day!

P.S. The "Eastern Dragon" prompt was changed because I didn't feel comfortable depicting this very non-Asian man with typically Asian design sensibilities. It's also a fun nod to my Nintendo ask blog days hOILJKFD.

Usually I put these in chronological order but I NEEDED to put this one at the top because um. Hi, this AU of Ratman being discovered and the both of them being experimented on is going into my back pocket for later use. Bringing a whole new definition to "lab rat".

And then the thumbnail sketches for the respective prompts!

For the Ptarmiganman and Beeman, that was around the time I got a comment about Tim getting to have some fun, so I was like "You know what, he should! Lemme get him in on this sometimes."

And finally for the Chimeraman, I actually already had the lion, snake, and goat designs fulfilled for [last year's] [weretober], so I was like "Uhhhh let's change them up a little since this is literally the same character." hOILKJDF

First chunk of [Weretober] prompts done with Tim (and Ratman) going through yet another transformation gauntlet of animals!

Literally how did this happen again... What's wrong with them? Are they stupid?

(Prompts #1-7 in order: Wolf -> Gnoll -> Hippogryph -> Liger -> Flying Fox -> Carnivorous Unicorn -> Whale Shark!)

Also some bonus thumbnails for the last one! (There's not really any I can post for the others, I kinda had solid poses and just jumped into it this time around hiolkjD)

Another chunk of [Weretober] prompts with Tim (and Ratman) flip-flopping between different animals!

Not sure how Tim hasn't figured out how to stop getting cursed by a bunch of things, but whatever, I'm not in charge of his life. (I am)

Dragonman originally had a more traditionally shaped face, but the longer I worked on it, the more I kinda was like "I don't care, I'mma do what I want" jOLKFDLFD

Couple thumbnails for the Hell Catman prompt and the original facial expression I had for him before I felt like it didn't fully lean into Ratman's manic energy.

I had a second pose idea for Phoenixman where he was holding into his beak in a cheeky manner, but decided against it cause I didn't care much for the overall body pose.

And finally I DID consider having Rhinoman in Tim's usual fit (cause I was digging the idea of the loosened necktie), however my initial sketch had a nose ring and I really liked him having it. Unfortunately I couldn't... think of a way to justify why he'd have it with that same outfit, so I decided it was round two of Tim being put in some underground boxing ring thing, like what happened during the time he was a [werekangaroo]!

Behold: unposted Tim and Ratman sketches from 2025! (Ft. a couple cameos from @hibiscera and @krickficet's OCs!)

Sketches 7-9 are AUs: one where Ratman is some freaky ass entity that possesses people till he eventually accidentally gets them killed, human!Ratman (again), and swap!Tim (again)!

And ooogh I have some Thoughts (tm) on the last, bite-y sketch...

I don't normally draw Ratman with that kind of expression, but man. I reeeally need to show off more glimpses of his character outside of "comic relief" and "petty violence".

When he talks about hating someone, it's usually kind of juvenile in nature, but there are rare instances where it's straight up actual burning vitriol. Times where he gets a blackness in his soul that no one can course correct as he wants to crush your skull against a wall. He can't bounce back so easily from those moments.

It probably doesn't make much sense, but in a weird way, I feel like it's the same side of him that has the ability to stop [sharing every thought with Tim]. The side that gets [frustrated with his lack of personhood outside of Tim] or [kind of knows that he's not always wanted].

Ratman has more emotional depth than he (or Tim for that matter) give him credit for. And truly he could introspect, but that'd force him to realize that he's just as wound up and frustrated as Tim about his own lack of control, too. (It doesn't help that he's also an idiot and doesn't have the patience, bandwidth, or interest to do so HIOLKJFDL)

Anyways I feel like he wouldn't see moments like that any differently than the times he's threatened to eat someone's fingers or whatever, but Tim can tell when it goes from impulsive violence to something personal. He just really doesn't want to ask about it.

Last but not least, the last batch my Tim and Ratman going through it with the [weretober] list!

I'm honestly shocked that I managed another year of completing a full piece from start-to-finish every day before midnight hit! Hopefully Tim (and Ratman) can rest easy now without the looming threat of me throwing them into back-to-back situations again.

I sketched this in response to a comment on my tweet with Tarantula Dogman about if he's so dangerous, WHY is he so fluffy and huggable? (The answer is that you can definitely trust him and his face that splits in half)

As for the Colossal Ratman, I had a couple ideas in mind for posing, but went with the car one. (However I'm really tempted to draw the one with him running later, actually hOILJKDF)
