‘When I was 27 I travelled a lot for work and I’d return to my London flat and feel uncomfortable in it because I had too much stuff. On the advice of my friend [actress] Rebecca Hall I got rid of all my belongings and lived out of two suitcases for 12 months. It was the most enjoyable year of my life.’
