Hello everyone! (member bio) I'm Charlie, I'm 16 and I'm from North Carolina. I'm going into my senior year of high school and afterwards plan on majoring in physics with a focus on astronomy. They/them pronouns. My schooling has been a bit strange. I've got private schools, public schools and community colleges under my belt, spread out over four different countries. I've spent a total of 2.5 years away from the US on travel abroad time (1 year in France, 1 year in Switzerland and 6 months in Costa Rica). I therefore speak four languages and if anyone has any questions about studying abroad, I would be happy to answer them. (I'm currently in Switzerland, hence the photo, but I go home next week) In terms of other interests, I love creative writing and music. I've been a writing group for the past 6 years and I've been playing flute for 10 years and clarinet for 2. As I mentioned, I'm getting ready for my senior year of high school. I have my classes split up between community college, online and the local university (UNC). This fall I'm taking statistics, astronomy, english composition, women's history and diversity literature. I'm a big fan of color coding my notes. I've never been someone to use 8 different colors of high lighters, but I like using 3 or 4, which is just enough to separate ideas without being overwhelming. I just do bullet lists and outlines for most of my classes, except for biology last year, which had lots of drawings and math, which is always a bit different. I also hand write everything. Notes, first drafts of essays, to do lists... I've always just been able to express myself better with a pen than a keyboard and it's easier for me to read on paper than a screen.
