Hi, I was extremely excited about this and have been but then I was already reblogging things but when I read that apparently you could include white people in edits I was EXTREMELY turned off. What is the point of calling it POC Potter week when you're letting white people in it? I'm extremely offended and really, this is pretty problematic and gross.

Hi Jules, sorry for taking awhile to get back to you. We’ve both been offline for the past day due to personal obligations. Thank you for reaching out to us and letting us know how this makes you feel. We started POC Potter Week after seeing edits of the Marauders, Golden Trio, etc fancast as exclusively white characters. We wanted to bring awareness to this by starting a week where POC had to be included in creations. We were willing to allow white people in the fancasts because we wanted edits with POC inclusion and thought that anything would be a good start. 

Since our goal was never to exclude white people but include POC, we will not change the rule. However, we recognize now that our wording may have been a poor choice. Therefore, we will restate the rule to ‘white people are acceptable in edits but the majority of characters in an edit must be POC.” We promise to rethink our rules and do better next time.

i already watch sense8 (and am crying real tears today holy shit). i haven’t watched the get down, but i’m not really a fan of music driven movies or tv shows? idk.

I had a shitty morning and cried right and I was like I’ll go to sleep, take a nap, wake up feel better AND FUCKING SENSE8 WAS CANCELLED

dude i feel you. and i get that sense8 had a ton of problems, and it was very stereotypical in some aspects but like, it showed a trans woman in a happy and healthy relationship. IT EVEN SHOWED HER GETTING ENGAGED. it had a mexican man in a loving relationship with his boyfriend. it had an african woman confirm openly that she was bisexual/pansexual (it’s never rlly stated which but SHE SAYS SHE LOVES BOTH).

and even though, yes, there were probably too many white leads, and i’d say they got more screen time than they should have in the first season, THE SHOW WAS ABOUT LOVE. AND ACCEPTANCE. IT HAD A FATHER FINALLY ACCEPTING HIS TRANS DAUGHTER, AND A MOTHER ACCEPTING HER GAY SON.

also, sun and kala are perfect.
