The land of Lorule is once again flourishing, after many, many years of being what was essentially a toxic dump. The grass is greening, the mold is fading, the monsters retreating. Soon, Hilda finds herself no longer worrying about the state of her country... And more about the state of her rebellious heart.

It's him that sets it a flutter, and she doesn't quite understand why. There's not much special about him. He's a coward, he's jumpy, and he's always avoiding something. Hiding behind his hood on the good days a disappearing to Hyrule on the bad ones. And it frustrates her. It frustrates her to no end that when he sees him heat travels to her cheeks, her knees go wobbly, her voice wavers.

He doesn't know what he does to her. She doesn't know what he does to her.

One day, she decides enough is enough. She's a woman of action. Sure, her impulsive nature has gotten her into more trouble than good, but it's also saved Lorule... After some... hiccups. She's not going to cower. She's not going to ignore. She's going to rip it off like a bandage. Get it over with. Figure this out before it costs her more restless hours of sleep.

She corners him in the castle. Pushes him against the wall. Grabs his annoying hood and pulls it off his face and before he can even stutter out a question of what she's doing she smashes her lips against his.

It sets something alight within her when he melts into it. When his arms nervously slide up to her jaw, when he deepens it.

Then, he pushes her away, breathing hard, cheeks red, emerald eyes shining. "I- princess... What if someone sees-"

"Let them watch," she cuts him off, leaning towards him and he swallows, "I don't care who sees."

Those words... Seem to do something to him, because a rare flash of bravery flashes across his face and her toes curl in excitement. He caresses her jaw, and soon their lips meet again, in something forbidden, unheard of, unwise, uncourageous, but so... so incredibly good.
