I think Vere when he was declaring "Im a God Im a Demon-" All that rampaging through the village was pulling a Shippo moment (Inuyasha anyone) and was like lying about his Big Bad Status on the Food Chain (Cause in the Grand Scheme of Things Foxes Really Are Small and Not that big of a Threat Except by things smaller than It which is why Tricksters right?) Using illusions and other mayhem and madness to terrorize the town folk into worshipping or fearing him for whatever reason (Vere Vereing quite frankly)

OR he is

That Big like Im thinking his true form is gonna be near Kurama (i dont watch Naruto anymore so like my idea of like a fuck off old powerful Fox entity, like they even say trickster spirits throughout history MIGHT be Vere but he wont confirm or deny it so thats like....I wouldnt put him as Nosferatu level Canon but I mean if you've ever seen like Roll 20s Neverafter they have like some of The Trickster spirits Hare, Fox, Cat as like rotating like enormous characters that are always present in fairy tales sort of as movers and shakers in the world right. So maybe yeah maybe Nosferatu level Canon or bigger actually and so thats why Kuras scares the shit out of him cause here is thinking

Killing him like I imagine they did the rest they captured like him cause isnt he the only one down there in those cells, we also got a preview of him in Saint's Walk infront of other monsters how much you wanna bet some of those were his friends from time pasts (You have no friends) the Senobium's way of mocking him cause they've killed anyone he could have called that and he's become more cruel and calloused from it as to not make any to avoid the heartache -

Vere is a sadist and a masochist like duh like I just think like

To elaborate he's more on the masochist side

And I think the update

Him not killing you

And you pulling his collar and blushing instead still showed an important part of his character right

Cause he's in this relationship with Ais who is noted down as a sadist solidly in his lore

And Vere states "He gives as well as he takes-"

I took from that like most of the time Ais tops which like YEAH but like Ais ...I can't see Ais 'letting' Vere win cause he's just that competitive but maybe right cause horny fights I imagine that's how they decide a lot is they either playfully or a lot of times genuinely argue and brawl get their fustrations out and then that physicality and gore they both enjoy turns quickly into rutting and sex right and whoever is topping in battle tops in sex. Its probably usually Ais and Vere likes that, he likes being bullied, and pinned and having hisnchain taken advantage of by not his actual oppressors. To a degree then sometimes he just wants to tear into things with his teeth and be just as cruel. Which to me makes sense for a fox, like he loves the chase, the denial is part of the fun because he gets to keep running, its freeing its own way, but he would get fustrated/ it'd feel pointless if he didn't occasionally get to catch something and tear it apart. So thus occasionally he does need to get his sadism side out, but if he only had a partner who let him use them constantly, he'd get bored quickly. There's no prey drive in it for him even if he has an insatiable appetite right, he'd just eat them. Thats part of why no maybe no partners survive him because there's a certain kind of rebellion allowed with him that Im sure people have a hard time staying in bounds of esp cause Vere might be so tempermental and fickle about it who knows or if its hugely the Senobium's doing or both but I bet for sure even total submittance gets you killed envitably like we see in the demo.

I think Vere is gonna end up being a prostitute or forced sex worker for the Senobium of some kind

He immediately gave me Astarion vibes

In the trailer we see a lot of hands on him but not really reaching out for them, him on this plush red bed

There's lot of ways to be a hunter besides just out on the streets killing monsters though I don't doubt the Senobium has him doing that too

I think they probably just in general treat his body as disposable like he said the only reason they keep him around is because he's good at what he does

But then again he's a notorious liar

But that's also part of how I got here right because when you meet him outside the Brothel he seems to joke it off and give you the /impression/ he's not really a prostitute but I don't think he really says No I think he just says Lucky for you I don't charge for my services (I'm doing this on the fly I'm not going pull up footage atm esp when UPDATED DEMO IS ONLY A FEW HOURS AWAY- anyway)

Which makes you wonder how he gets fine clothes / his own money well his own money he probably gets from like the people he kills when he can stash it away but the clothes

Likely are given to him by the Senobium/ the few luxury he's afforded to work in the high end brothels to honey pot maybe

Tho how does anyone not know he's the Senobium fox at this point idk or maybe that's the appeal for some of these rich fucks

And thats more to why he hates being called dog even more than just how the priesthood treats him and being on a leash

Also the clothes thing looping back the other person we see with those fineries right is Elyon

And Also There was a little preview released by Red Spring of Ais telling MC to just relax they were just leaving a brothel? Because they were just meeting a friend so....either covering for Vere or thats our introduction to Elyon

Anyway that was the vibe I always got from first play of the demo was something like that but it's really solidified in the last few weeks thanks to the hunger games fandoms reawakening and like some Finnick Odair stuff really kind of made some stuff click for me

Cause also right Vere is a kitsune with 1 tail and they said he's had over 100 birthdays like he may be very young cause some Kitsune legends its like per century is per tail or something

Like I think a lot of people when they read the entry about him proclaiming himself a God or Demon during the Senobium's capture of him pictures him I think as like Kurama in early Naruto like what we were like vaguely left to believe about the Demon Fox on a rampage

But what I picture for Vere and maybe it's just cause I love my pathetic gay wives but also no genuinely this came to mind was like

The scene from Inuyasha with Shippo when they first met him and his father was like missing (inevitably they discovered slain) or something along those lines and he's just a little fox pup alone and so he does all his fox magic to make himself seem like a scary demon if he can but he's really just this little dude

But they do say they weren't able to subdue him until the snow which might have been Kuras retracting his love imo maybe and there's the whole thing with his quiz line being I'm in love with Judas baby but that's a whole other thing thing anyway

Back to this yeah like him being a prostitute and kitsune

they may be taking advantage of what they perceive his nature to be either assigning him mindless sexual beast or cause kitsune in many legends feed on sexual energy

Theres so much media that comes to mind with this like Oh I had it but lost it to brain fog but an easy one is the Love Death + Robots episode with the kitsune right esp cause being transformed into something you're not to survive (this amazing tiktok I saw of a dog disguise over a fox comes to mind That was so Vere coded it was for 14 days later actually tho but...perf either way)

But yeah so much paralleling, the city being built off your crumbling, vegeance, reforming yourself, that hunt, finding that loyal ally that still remembers the old ways (Ais maybe) like mmm delicious

Natasha Romanov weirdly comes to mind but yeah that fox face Scarlett has but really it's the birdcage kind of plot line right and the Russian super spies (i don't watch marvel don't come for mee) women being also used as honey pots but also being assassins but still beholden right to this greater organization regardless of their own abilities it's inescapable until they recieve outsider help like

When it comes to Ocs

Where consistently I attempt to make a character early on for something before I know a lot about it

that just ends up sharing

Entirely too many traits with something that ends up canon in the piece of media

Whether it be because I havent read a lot of it yet or like touchstarved it isnt fully out yet right like

For example during Baldurs Gate Early Access I ended up with a character (I didnt realize at first Tav was suppose to be normal guy tm I went fully main character dnd energy) that in early drafts (and still in a lot of ways) was a lot of Karlach and Dame Aylin combined to the degree I literally had a comet scene choreographed out for her so when I SAW THAT IN GAME I JXJDNFNDD anyway

I need you to know my original inspos for that character were starfire and chappel roan like before she was even famous(still 💗 btw hate that I have to clarify since that is such a hdjfnfd) cause this was like before Hot To Go was released anyway like and now my character has evolved to be more like Blackfire and Chappel Roan after fame but....yk 😈

My touchstarved Oc is themed after like Death and the 3 aspect Goddesses and like her name is Eve right

She always wears a cloak obscuring her face, (she's blind so it just doesn't matter to her / the heavy cloak in general is for utility and for modesty) has a shepherds cane made of like very specific wood with holy properties with the hook around the end thats near scythe like so she looks from a distance like a grim reaper but when she gets closer you realize how corny and tiny she actually appears (I was imagining you know that psp game that was like about Kid death, that adorableness for a silhouette hehe)

But also EVE RIGHT

And the saint/ Goddess statue? And

The angels gifting her What looks like ATOMS

I also have it to where like she's the nameless right so the RELIGIOUS TRAUMA background cause ofc and like they didn't just think her a prophet they thought her the vessel of the goddess cause its just this juicy got treated as a object her whole life ontop of her curse making her not wanting to touch right its just -muah-

My roommate like had a family thing so

I had one of those rare times I was alone before my partner comes home too and we just moved so lots of stray things in places to fall plus theres been a lot of rain and the windows are thin and I dont sleep well and I have a migraine disorder that makes me hear things so there's a lot of reasons for me to doubt myself when I hear something a rustling in the house

But

Does that stop me from jumping out of bed prepared to ??? with a ridiculous random roll of equipment

Today's armor set consisted of what is essentially a big BDSM switch (bright fucking yellow too) +5 to smack +2 to sting

I only really wear under corsets I dont even know if Id give this one charisma its white but I dont thinkcyou can see my tits through it and its just kind of silly

Its camp armor its either neutral or negative without the over padding that belongs on it.

I feel like I get less stat bonuses for not having nuts like its got a Secure Containment bonus if you're holding balls in the prepared ballroom but everybody still something for being somewhere they can move around easy +2 dex

Today was my 10th anniversary with my partner and we had a tough time over the last few years but today for our anniversary we gardened in our new home that we own and thats fun and tough but really good mostly and I made a spell jar for protection and love and thought about the universe and my place in it and what I want and its just mostly more of the same but with a little more so I can help others because

If my struggles stay as they are or even got a little worse Id still be quite blessed even on some of my worse days I think and I had some really really bad days this year like worse since I lived with abusive parents bad because the systems of capitalism are bad and thus abusive authority lives alongside you always even when you leave your parents and thats really hard to get out of but even then Im very lucky in the way that that authority is wielded over me versus some people even if NONE OF US should have it be this way so one day I wish that maybe I can like help somehow also shield others from their oppressive authority figures cause I know

What a relief, how life changing it was, just to get out from *some* and Ive always wanted that for my best friend who lived a lot longer crushed under in my opinion harder circumstance because they sacrificed so much of themselves to make sure people in their lives stayed safe and I was finally able to fulfill the promise I made as a kid with this house by getting them out of that situation and I hope that like

Theyre able to heal sort of like I am trying to

And then I hope the next step after them is someone else too and maybe more after that too.

Also I think part of me thinking of that touchstarved angst fic was spawned by me yesterday thinking really hard about like a YGO angst fic idea where like

And I'm sure I'm not reinventing the Wheel Here like A Lot of these thoughts spawn from Just Text but like yk

After Atem passes on like

Seto Kaiba enters a relationship with Yugi (Or continues it depending on your like preferred World State of a universe where their relationship is overtly romantic)

I think this would work better if it's a continued relationship personally

And things are just

Different

Because like Seto was always in love with Atem not Yugi

But Seto continues to like perform the relationship stuff (in the way Seto does ...any relationship anything you know) but like obviously is growing more distant from it as he starts to really come to grips with Yugi is not Atem

And I think this would be really good from both perspective like really just a heartbreaking dive for both characters like

Yugi always seemed to like Seto genuinely right so he would be coping with losing a man he did genuinely love and respect and having to deal with this person I was in a relationship with and love didn't love me, only loved this other soul inside of me that was so important to me, my life and development and is also gone now

So he's Grieving from the loss of Atem and his relationship at the same time which means he'd probably be slower to let go of Seto than he ought to be you know and also in the anime we see how all his friends have plans to go and he's sort of got his own things too but he's a little bit more floating too after duel monster fame and atem and all that's sort of ending so of course he might think himself stuck or clinging to this and Seto

While Seto of course wants to keep Yugi suspended there because his way of Grieving Atem is denial. He believes Atem is still in / part of Yugi in some way, and can be conjured back and that Yugi is just denying him or just unable to for some reason. So Kaiba might even be spoiling at first trying to lure him back out in his mind (bargaining) before getting fustrated, lashing out, etc, then getting cold and going through all sorts of things as also his way of maladaptively coping with the man he loved being gone again too. Then afterwards he has to reckon with those consequences, with what he's done to Yugi who he otherwise does respect as well but doesn't love like Atem. He's got to deal with facing reality (notoriously a thing he's not great with)

Ultimately through this journey I could see Yugi from the lessons Atem left him with and through Seto pushing him really embodying a lot of traits Atem had to the point where maybe Seto starts to try and convince himself again in desperation, sorrow, guilt, and this thread of respect he will always have for Yugi Moto but will express itself much too late that he could make a relationship actually work with him after all once he's started to accepted Atem's truly gone. Or that Yugi really really isn't him or can't just bring him back like that....but by then it's too late. Yugi has already gone through all the motions of grieving, working through getting their own self respect back, growing their back bone, breaking off this relationship in their head, knowing they have to be okay by themselves, etc etc etc. All these things they learned from atem AND from Kaiba but purified you know

Then Yugi walks away, not hating Seto cause he's always been so good hearted, he understands what caused Seto to act the way he did, but definitely, that door on their relationship is shut for good. Seto will of course because of his attachment style, rebel, fight, be angry about the rejection at first have his whole dramatics and tantrum because of his damaged nervous system but once he's able to calm he'll come to accept shortly after this was right for both of them and respect Yugi more for knowing when to walk away begrudgingly.

Like is that a signal your character is falling for their charms, is it them falling for you- is there a reason Leander and Ais's motif mirror each other in that moment or will it be used more in the game like is it a warning sign or an actual good thing
