it is really fascinating to me how F&C is navigating genderbending for gnc characters, while AT as a whole is growing with its audience. i do get the vibes that huntress wizard probably Does Not GAF about gender/sex binaries (she is literally a shapeshifting plant being) and just uses she/her bc its straightforward. but hunter being set in a world closer to IRL is able to express in our language how they present, albeit in a different way.
in the end they are all just whimsical funny characters and trying to apply strict binaries in any way is Silly. and genderbends are largely Aesthetics-based and really not That Serious. but i just remember growing up and kind of hitting a wall at a certain point when it came to genderbend AUs and feeling like a nebulous category in those. but its refreshing to just let an AU character be Whatever. and it ties in well with having fionna's world be its own new thing instead of the old AT timeline overall. also it being part of a whole multi-verse means there are countless iterations for a gnc character to have or be and its kind of Awesomeee

another mystery about sunset shimmer that haunts me is where the fuck does she live before becoming friends with mane 6. bc obviously i think they would let her couch surf and rotate her like a blunt.
maybe the library is Just That Big and she has an apartment made of books in there or hijacked a storage closet. maybe she just sleeps in her locker. she could live in a van. endless possibilities. all of them involving trespassing and espionage. no way is she making a living wage to pay rent.
although it would be really funny if she was hustling with a patreon and blew up as a content creator on the internet. maybe shes rolling in mr beast money. i don't know. shes certainly committing tax evasion.

do u ever think about if there's a sunset shimmer counterpart that lives in bumfuck nowhere doing god knows what. would she be the most extreme comphet pretty girl or an underground bandcamp rocker writing midwest emo songs about being queer in bumfuck nowhere with under 1,000 listeners. or maybe she is flipping burgers at the local food chain and fades into the background. maybe she's all of those at the same time. we will never know. it haunts me.
