Rest in Peace to a man who made my childhood and teenage years full of love for the game. He and Glen Kuiper were the ultimate duo to me growing up, nobody could match their chemistry and friendship, and Ray's wisdom was admirable and humble all at once. He was one out of the many broadcasters and radio men who I considered to be a PART of the Athletics family. Everyone counted, not just the players on the field but the guys behind the scenes and the ones cheering them on like Ray.
I'm so lucky I got to be a part of the magic, even for a little moment in time. So lucky I got to see coverage of our scruffy boys. No matter how much the team sucked, Ray was there to love them-- and we loved HIM for that.
So many beautiful memories. He will be sorely sorely severely missed. I'll never forget him.
