Journal of Commander Raylan Braxton: The Departure
It’s the end of an uneventful first day of travel. So far, it’s been smooth sailing. The weather that set us back two days has decided to make it up to us with a warmth and sunshine, despite problems further south in Lornar’s Pass. That is not our fight. Instead, three strangers, a fern hound, and Avorae have made it into the Snowden Drifts. Not a very complicated affair as of yet, but I have a feeling that will change. Rhevos I’ve grown quite sure of from time spent talking in the kitchen. He seems like an able enough tracker coming from such a young race, but between he and Moon Moon, I feel they are valuable contributions to the team. Jace and Liora I am quite sure of when it comes to their brains, they have both proven to be highly intelligent, but if they will be more than that in a fight remains to be seen. There will most certainly be fighting and I hope it is not three and a half trying to protect two. The first fight will tell much.
Avorae. If they do not know about her and I, I’m sure the hint will be given when we curl up next to each other tonight... I would be shocked if Jace and Liora didn’t pick up on the rumors floating around the Priory. I refuse to hide that part of me when any day in uncharted territory could be our last. We will make it back though. I’m sure of it. All of us. I will make up for mistakes made in Orr..
