Finally broke in my new kayak with a salmon! Went 1/4 with this above average Coho caught in a crazy new lure setup (vid coming!!!). Kings still eluding me though. Went 3.5mi out to 75’ to find clean water but it was still dirty. Couldn’t have asked for better flat calm water conditions on Lake Michigan but the fog rolled in out of nowhere! We were 2.2mi offshore in 60fow. Situations like this, a fishfinder with a chartplotter feature, starting a Track, is so critical to finding your way back to shore. Not sure it looks like my finder is off but it’s not, maybe it’s the camera angle or something. Took these today, just look at it! Alewife school is about 10’ in length and 60’ in width. Been fishing Lake Michigan for a lot of years now and this is the MOST bait I’ve seen in the lake.
