I didn’t wanna change their personalities or their designs too much, I mainly wanted to recontextualize them and make their identities more distinct from Gargamel and Azrael while still mirroring that dynamic… except now they’re two human guys with Homoerotic Tension lol

we got the first little snippet of Joel speaking in the new Smurfs movie, and i love what Dan Levy's doing with his voice!! oddly formal, and polite, and unless i'm hearing it incorrectly, he has an interdental lisp! i'm charmed already 🙈💖
