What are some things they don’t agree on?
Who is more likely to make an impulsive decision and who is the voice of reason?
Who is more likely to get jealous?
Finally getting to the rest of these!
This is a tricky one! The physical attraction happens the moment they meet each other, and there’s office flirting beforehand, but the way these two finally hook up is an alcohol-fueled night out with the Avery group to celebrate the discovery of a particularly significant clue. I guess you could say it’s a mutual attempt?
Naz (well, as much as she can be, anyhow). Not to say that Rafe doesn’t show SOME feelings — in fact, after they’ve known each other a while, Naz becomes one of the few to see that side of him — but Naz is the one who, at times, views their relationship (loosely defined) through a more emotional lens.
Deep down, though, these guys both understand they’re not looking for love, but rather an escape, in each other.
What are some things they don’t agree on?
Oh. Everything. (Joking, kinda?)
These two have very different goals at the start of the AU: one desperate to prove he’s more than his money while using his money to do it, and one desperate to bury and overcome years of intellectual and emotional burnout as well as the pain of failed relationships with both her ex-partner and her family. Rafe sees the majority of things from a self-centered, silver-spoon perspective, and Naz challenges that with the stubborn realism her world has forced her to have. So that plays into a lot of the choices they have to make about the path to Avery’s treasure and their bond with each other.
But, uh... a more specific example? Being the busy guy that he is, Rafe relies way too much on food and drink delivery. Naz would literally have to haul his ass out of the apartment to get that hangover coffee.
Who is more likely to make an impulsive decision and who is the voice of reason?
They’re both capable of being impulsive, but Rafe certainly wins that one. Naz tends to be the reasonable one, especially towards the end of it all, when Rafe is driven almost entirely by hatred and jealousy.
Who is more likely to get jealous?
Rafe for sure. He has a tendency to get possessive over anything he feels he’s entitled to (and let’s be honest, Naz is into it on occasion).
But there’s only so many times you can take someone out and only so long you can shack up with them before it’s time to have a deeper discussion about what’s happening... and Raz suck at that.
Thanks again for the ask! ❤️
