You will notice that your child has been assigned a reading assessment on Raz-Kids that is different from the level they were last reading at. This was not an error, rather an adjustment to align the readings on Raz-Kids Reading A-Z (in the left coloured column) to our school Running Records which are based on the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment (in the right column). I have attached a picture from the Raz-Kids site indicating the different reading levels and the grade-level they are associated with. Reading levels will be adjusted, as needed, to allow students to access appropriately levelled books in order to be the most successful. HAPPY READING! I can’t wait to hear you read!

I really like Razkids.  The school my youngest to kids attend uses this reading program.  Based on the reading level your child is on, there is an option to have the story read to them, they read the story, and/or there is a quiz for reading comprehension.  The students receive points for all activities completed.  I highly recommend this program.

Cons: There is one thing I don't like about the program, but it is minimal.  Before I tell you, keep in mind that I have an analytical, educator's mind. LOL! My youngest son has figured out that the questions are not mixed up if he takes the quiz again.  So if he doesn't make a 100; he retakes the quiz.  He doesn't reread the questions; he remembers the answers he put in from the previous quiz.
