3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year

Favorite line came from my favorite scene in my BG3 post ritual fic - Baby You're The Devil I Know. Gan and Astarion clash during an argument about how he almost turned her in a power fueled haze immediately after the ritual completed (my HC for these two): “We can rule together forever as vampires, as lovers & partners for the rest of my life…” She glared back over her shoulder towards him. “Or you can simply step over my corpse if I don’t survive our clash.”

Gan and Astarion's fic - Baby You're The Devil I Know - at 4 chapters (last chapter dropping soon) and 5k+ words!

17. fics you’ll continue next year

I have a few Love and Deepspace and Infamous IF fics I plan to finish up next year, especially since both games are ongoing at the moment.

Definitely plan to write more Love and Deepspace. Need to show Xavier some fic love and write a bit more for my MC too 🥰

Some of the recent @infamous-if POV updates had me in my feelings so I've been writing Anaya fic lately:

And his last message to her had done just that: "I don't want to think about this anymore. Leave me alone."

Leave me alone. When they said it to each other, it was often followed by avoidance and tension filled practices where they sang as quickly as possible to get away from each other.

Only that time, the finality of his tone was more than understood. Seven wouldn't be swinging by her place two or three weeks later in gray sweatpants with a pizza in hand and an apologetic smile on his face. She wasn't going to be knocking on his door wearing a sundress with a container full of oxtail and rice and the sweetest look as she batted her curly lashes at him.

Neither of them needed it as often these days but like any vintage wine it was still nice to enjoy on occasion. Astarion finally opened his eyes and turned to see her humming and rocking side to side in bliss. While he hadn’t noticed her undressing to only her blouse as he indulged, it was a pleasant surprise nonetheless. Right in line with where his thoughts were headed. Blood had trickled down her cleavage and over the swell of her breasts from her stained chin and neck. Trails of it disappeared into creases he wanted to fit his tongue into and Astarion felt a tingle low in his belly the longer he gazed at her.

I will explain a little of this one (for blocking purposes if anyone needs it). This fic takes place immediately post Ascension ritual for Astarion where he is ascended. Now on to some sentences after the break!

She curled up a little to make room for him as he stepped into the warm water. Living in the palace, they weren't allowed these kinds of "luxuries". You cleaned up and moved on else you risked pissing off your siblings or Godey on particularly bad days. Since the tadpole though? Astarion had reacquainted himself with soaking. Soaking in the lake, soaking at the inn, whenever some still water rested, he was in it. The little frivolous things like soaking in a tub had been stripped from him for so long. Now he didn't have to be denied these things anymore. He'd made sure of that with her help.

They just stood up for him. Didn't walk away when he'd needed them most. And he thought to himself they had a habit of doing that. Whether it was someone by his side, a bandage for his wounds, dining together, or just a good laugh, they'd been there. It was all quite frustrating honestly. Cause no one helped worms like him. Not when there was gold to be had and least of all when they gained nothing in return.

Astarion could feel the defeatism bubbling up, sure he'd just have to work his way through it for all of their sake. Having traveled with them for weeks now, knowing that they hardly ever hesitated when it came to their own wants and needs, he didn't expect what unfolded in that moment.
