Finished ref for my gemsona, Rubellite (formally known as Red Tourmaline)! They/It, they do not identfy with any earth pronouns. Bio under the cut.

They stand about 5′10. Idk guess the weight yourself.

Rubellite is a home world gem, but is defective due to their gem placement. Since their birth/creation, they cannot/will not speak. They were an object of ridicule from other gems who found themselves “better” than the defect. 

I subscribe to the headcanon Rose Quartz is actually a highly powerful gem/ pink diamond. Thus the red/pink diamond. They fled the homeworld with Rose’s army, and reside on earth, far from Beach City, in a rock quarry. They do not want to/would never try to contact other gems. 

They have somewhat of a power. They can do what I call “soft telekinesis”. They can communicate by mind, but not words. Instead they can send 2-3 senses to the person, perceptions of sight, sound, taste, touch, emotion, etc. However they cannot control specifically who these messages go to. The more enthusiastic, scared, excited, angry, etc,  they feel, the louder, and more intense, these messages seem.

Rubellite is quiet and docile by nature, and loves to listen. They often copy/meld into the emotion of the person speaking to them. They’re good at using their messages to calm others, or in the war, rile them up. 

The gems they would get along with most would probably be Amethyst and Garnet. They would be able to be calm and zen with Garnet, and could emotionally connect, somewhat, with Amethyst. Not to say they wouldn’t be able to quietly sit through a Pearl lecture while bleeding bored emotions to Amethyst next to them.
