“ we should really do this more often. ” even though she knew it was nothing louder than a whisper, the sound of her voice was jarring in the comfortable silence shared between them. it was nothing but just another comfortable gesture they share, not unlike the casual hugs or an arm around the shoulders on the campus. carter tilted her head against his shoulder, leaning back further into his body and momentarily tearing her gaze away from the laptop screen to glance up at him, a half smile forming on her lips in such a way that was both teasing and affectionate. —there was something about the soft glow of the light shining though the sheet over their head that made the whole thing seem so cozy. even though it was not something she’d considered doing, she had to admit that it was simple just nice. she’d always considered a blanket fort to be something so utterly childish ( even though she was nothing but ) or just far too ‘lovey-dovey’ for her to be enjoying with someone she was not in a relationship with. —but then again, nothing could ever be awkward of difficult when it comes to her and roman. it was not often for two people to say they can do literally anything with each other without turning the whole thing weird. with one last smile, she turned her attention back to the movie playing on the screen, leaving her head rested on his shoulder with her lips still curved up, smiling in contentment to herself.
