❛ ... they talked to you again, didn’t they? ❜ umbrella corps. god, he HATED it. some part of their agreement, way back then, was that left them the fuck alone. he wouldn’t let them turn rose into some--- some weapon. HE SAW WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY LAST TRIED THAT.

even though chris had given him his word that they would try to never talk to them again, it’s... tricky. some of the umbrella corps didn’t really follow through with that promise. all throughout her childhood, there would be times they would show up on their doorstep requesting to run SOME tests to see what rose was capable of, or if ethan had witnessed her do anything... special. it’s no surprise his response was always ‘go to hell’.

it’s also no surprise he’s PROTECTIVE of her. always there to drop her off to school and pick her up (much like how he’s doing right now), always wanting to know where she is, etc, etc. it wasn’t fair to her, but it was the only way for ethan to keep a sound mind.
