@rctribvtn the mask and cape felt different somehow after a nearly two year break. the suit still fit, a little loose considering weight lost with the whole...ordeal that had happened, though stephanie knew that the problem wasn’t superficial and had nothing to do with the material. while stephanie was glad to be back doing what she felt she did best (that, of course, being a kick-ass, morally-gray vigilante), she couldn’t quite shake the feeling that things were different now, that she herself had changed. she had only been back a few weeks, and her desire to inform both bruce and her mother were zero to none. after a childhood that could be best described as *eventful* and an experience with batman that had led to both torture and nearly death, steph had decided that flying solo was in her best interests. no one to disappoint, no obligations to fly in range of someone else’s moral code. all in all, it sounded like a good deal to her. her mask hid her face, and well, maybe her spoiler outfit could do with some tweaking to make her less recognizable. she’d overheard a commotion down an alleyway that she’d walked by, and steph did a double-take down it as she hesitated. she watched for a moment, a confrontation that the man in helmet was undoubtedly winning. “hey killer,” she called out after a long moment of watching, “i think you won. don’t stop on my account or anything, but, y’know. just saying.”
