there's dominicans who actually believe haitians are "invading" and "taking over" our country and plan on spending money and voting for alofoke to be president in 2028 i can't. this is not a real country. it's just not possible
it's such an easy tool for radicalization too. you wouldn't go to a "protest" held in a mostly-haitian neighborhood to exclaim for their deportation and harass people to incite violence, would you? but you would go to a protest in front of congress criticizing a lot of the recent legislation that Everyone is mad about. and if the protest is held by the same organization that did the first thing, well, you may not agree with that, but you agree with them in other things, and actually they're just asking the government to prioritize the interests and wellbeing of their citizens, and that's also what you want, so the party can't be all bad, and we can hear them out on some things and give them political power, because at the end of the day all they want is for OUR needs as dominican citizens to be fulfilled by the government, isn't it?

i love to see my people protesting like love and light genuinely it makes me so happy and i doubt the average person showing up investigates who specifically is organizing the protests when they hear of it because like we all know what we're mad about these days bc it's very puntual recent things and we all know the place we go to for this kind of protest so it's really just a matter of showing up when you hear it's happening.
however once you do know you really can't stop knowing bc like i just found out there's a calling for a 47 day long protest in front of congress which is in theory so chic but the ones calling for it are the Ancient Dominican Order. literal translation of the name. the Ancient Dominican Order. and they want to protests about all the topics everyone is currently mad about, and also ☝️ about migratory laws. the Ancient Dominican Order. make a wild guess what their stance is on that topic. just guess. guess. guess. get into my comments and guess guess guess please you've gotta guess. a wild guess. whatever comes to mind. just from their name. guess. and this is why you NEED to know because the earth will sooner crack in half and demons will crawl out from its core to walk the earth in corporeal form before i ever participate in ANYTHING organized by the Ancient Dominican Order. demented. demented. like awilda was only 16 years old. ismailyn was 17 and pregnant. erika was 21 and had a 3 year old who watched the whole thing and hasn't talked since. violette was 35 and he cut off her fucking hands. reynalda was 22 and had gone with her mom to make a police report the day before the man harassing her and two others raped and killed her. the police had dismissed her and told her to come back the next day. darianny was 23 and her murderer called her the woman he'd loved the most in his life. fiordaliza died four days after being shot by her ex and she spent those four days defending herself to interviewers and journalists from a smear campaign. aleny was strangled and set on fire.
and then there's the 10 femicide attempts. maritza and her mom flora were attacked with a machete by her ex and the neighbors set his house on fire and it's the only thing that's made me smile so far because truly we have no one but each other. no one.
thinking about esmirna and marianny and diana and yessica and nikaury and providencia and alfania and esmeralda and indira and abril (<- she was 15) and angela and yuri and nancy and paola and sugeldy and yaidy and lisbeth and berkis and nancy and marilenny and the unnamed woman found in april and all the other unnamed women. i am so angry
