Being a RDH is cool and all, flexible schedule, makin' bank... but sometimes we get those OMFG-KILL-ME-NOW patients...  This is what I learned in my first two months of being a RDH :)

Patients who....

don't know how to close their lips over the suction correctly... um HELLO!  PUSH THE SPIT INTO THE SUCTION.

don't relax their fkn lips and cheek muscles.  YOUR RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, FKN STOP.

have viscous saliva.  If there's one thing I am disgusted with inside the mouth, it's THICK ASS spit.  I can't stand it, I just can't.  It sickens me.  I almost threw up the other day cuz it wasn't spit, it's SLIME.  BLEEHHH EWWW UGHHHH.

Actually, it's pretty fkn gross when there's old ass food in between your fkn teeth.  You're going to the fkn dentist, DO US A FAVOR AND BRUSH YOUR GODDAMN DIRTY ASS BEFORE YOUR APPT.  It's just fkn COURTESY.  

This guy who blocked the suction with his tongue, preventing the water from my ultrasonic from being evacuated.  Why even have the suction in your mouth?

Pansies who jump when we touch you.  Can you please take a little, gentle scraping.  We are here to help you, not hurt you.
