It had become more of a regular occurrence for her to fall asleep around him. Taking cat naps in the grass, leaning on a table, or leaning against something else. This time she had sat right next to him and when sleep did eventually take her, head would drop gently against him.
General Asks (Always Accepting!)
He doesn't understand, can't comprehend exactly what it was he had done to attract this woman. Lucio doesn't even know her last name.
And yet- despite his best efforts to dissuade her from pestering him, she persevered. Constantly taken to his side, chewing on and on about this that and the other. She didn't mind his silence, she talked enough for the both of them.
The firelight crackles, filling the void of silence. (Which he should've thought of being strange considering she was so near.) And his sharpened teeth tear small pieces of jerky, chewing quietly. Alternating between eating and sips from his canteen.
What he hadn't expected, however, was to feel her frame gently nestle against his own. Instinctively, he bristles- awaiting something that would never come.
Both eyes open again, and he looks down on her sleeping face.
It was concerning how comfortable she felt around a stranger. What if he had still been a man with bad intention? What if someone saw her? People knew what he was, surely they had warned her occasionally? What rumor would spread should she be seen getting so cozy with him?
Though... the firelight warms her already soft features. And Lucio can't help but feel something well deep within him. Yearning and possessive.
Carefully, he picks her up in his arms and effortlessly carries her to her tiny tent to lay her down. Poor thing must be exhausted running from town to town.
