Can a new member apply with two characters?

Absolutely! All we ask is that you submit two separate application submissions to keep things easier to read.

do you recommend a certain length when it comes to answering the questionnaire? almost done with my app! but i want to make sure i'm providing a decent amount of content

I’m not the biggest fan of putting word limits, or word requirements, on things, since I think it puts unnecessary pressure on you guys, so I would just say that quality always comes before quantity. I know that that’s the most unhelpful and generic answer that I could possibly give you, but it’s true - it all comes down to your interpretation of the character, and their voice. If you can convey your character’s thought process in but a few sentences, and it’s intentional for the character to say very little, that speaks volumes more than trying to churn out a lot because you feel like there aren’t enough words on the page, as long as it’s a clear choice. By the same merit, I don’t want you to censor yourself if your character is prone to rambling - by all means, say as much as they’d say in that situation! I’ve read things that were but a few words long that really impacted me as a reader, just as easily as I’ve been sucked into long pieces of writing that held my attention. 

So basically, it’s more about the character than the length of the answer - there is no required length, as long as you’ve confidently conveyed exactly what you (and the character!) want to convey! I hope that helps a little bit!

rather than stating three goals that we feel our character must achieve, can we write potential plots that are like more open ended and give you more room for deciding the characters development? or do we have to put concrete goals anyway? i hope this makes sense!

Yes, absolutely!! That section is basically for both of our benefits; there’s no right or wrong way to fill it out, nor is there a certain thing that I’m looking for in terms of plots, plans, and wants. I keep all of those sections in a separate google doc and account for everyone’s wanted plots/goals in each events so that everyone can develop their characters in tandem with the developments of the plot that I’m putting out. I would love for you to put potential plot arcs and development points in that section - that would help me out as an admin a lot, as well! 

So basically, put whatever you feel would best propel your character forward (or drag them down if, ya’ know, you want to really go for the angst) in that section - I’d love to see what kind of things you want them to do!

yes! since there's no writing sample on the application, this will really be the way we can see your concept of the characters - i've set up rachel's blog HERE as an example. this also makes it easier when reviews take place, as we can usher you into the game much quicker!

I'm interested in applying, but I don't turn 21 for another two weeks. Do I have to wait until my birthday to apply, or can I apply now as I'm so close to my birthday?

not at all! the age limitation was primarily due to the admins ages; we're in our mid/late twenties and aren't always comfortable playing against teenagers. we totally honor honestly above all else; we would never reject you on the grounds of being 20 and hope you do fill out an application soon! (also, happy early birthday!)

When you say apply from the blog we will be using do you mean the blog already has to be made or can it be an old character blog we plan on using if accepted?

it's up to you; having a blog made when sending in your application speeds the process up if you're accepted - we can set up the links, make graphics, etc - but can be understandably daunting if you aren't accepted. the point of the blogs is so that a) you can remain relatively anonymous and our decision remains completely impartial as well as b) seeing how your blogs are created and any potenial inspiration and muse you have for this verse when applying.

If I get an app in tonight, but it's after 8 CST would you still review it or would I have to wait until Tuesday? Just wondering if I need to rush to get it done or not lol Thanks!

unless you’re planning on applying for finn (in which case, you’re free to ask us to hold on reviewing the app we have now) i would say we’d probably wait until tuesday to do another round of reviews - definitely take your time, so that we can see the best possible app when you do send it in!
