And now for something completely different: #Vintage effects spotted at @capsulemusic #Toronto. On top is a 1970s #Roland #RE301 #ChorusEcho and beneath is a 1960s Klempt #Echolette #E51 tube driven tape delay. The RE301 was an upgraded version of the Roland #RE201 “#SpaceEcho” that added a looping feature to the tape echo, a chorus effect and foot pedal control of the repeat rate. Apparently Brian Setzer uses Roland tape echo units for his rockabilly slapback. Not much info out there on the E51 except it’s also a tape delay unit, with a tube preamp, made in Germany (note that the controls are labeled in English and Deutsch!) and apparently used by The Beatles.
