I debated whether to go with the style I'm currently working on or a flatter anime style. I like both so it was a hard choice. In the end I went for something in between. This time I wanted to give some summer vibes.

The end of summer is finally here. Fall is just around the corner! I wanted to do more summer based art but I was bogged down with other things going on. Maybe next year.

I actually wanted to retry a couple of past paintings but since I ran out of time I will have to end it with Kodachi. This makes the third revision (and probably the last). Although version two wasn't back I wanted to give it another try. I wonder though if people would even be able to tell the difference? I also edited the background but I kept forgetting that certain details would just get hidden behind Kodachi.

With that in mind I decided to also add in the background.

This is actually a RE:do from 2022. I decided to re-paint not only Misaki but also the whole background. From there I then simplified my painting all over. This time I also decided to actually add in a sports bra this time. There were also other details I changed but you can compare it if interested. Here is the old version:

I felt that the previous version I had looked off but I didn't know why. At some point I got a comment that pointed out the arm and sure enough that's what it was. My brother said that I should go back to basics, maybe that's what he meant.

I've been wanting to get back to this painting. Surprisingly only a few things were retouched. I remember being hesitant on adding a shadow to Gojo's face. I used to be so scared of redoing parts that I messed up. It's amazing how much growth has happened since then.

On another note, I really loved this scene. I've been keeping up with the manga, but I seriously need to go back to rewatching the anime.

Back in 2020 I made a piece of Marisa in a Christmas outfit, but it was really rough and I was still using my developing painting style along with my line art which don't work well together at all. For that reason I believe it would be a good candidate to RE:do with my current skills. Overall I love the new version a whole lot more. I did make some changes to her expression, but I feel that it all still gives the same cool yet cozy Christmas feeling.

I recorded the process, should I just make a speed paint video of it? I've been quite busy and will probably continue to be so for a while. This means that I probably wont be able to start making the new format for a while. Since Christmas is fast approaching and it would be weird to upload the video a year later why not just upload something now?

If time permits, I will try to make another painting for Christmas. We'll see.
