I. Love. This. ❤️️ . Repost from @annielauriewalters . When I moved to D.C. in September of 2000 I never thought I'd move back to Memphis. But earlier this year God started changing my mind. It started at The IF:Gathering. The conference was about discipleship and the take away question was "who gave you Jesus and who will you give Jesus to this year?" I made a list of the people who gave me Jesus and nearly all of them where in Memphis, TN. And when it was time to decide who would I give Jesus to this year I wrote "901" on my tile. That was in February. At the time we had no plans to move from D.C. Little did I know, God would soon move my family to the city that gave me Jesus. Only a few short months later, a friend from our church here in D.C. passed Brian's resume to The Orchard Church in Collierville, a Memphis suburb. One would think a friend or contact from Memphis would've connected us to this opportunity but it was a friend from McLean Bible Church here in D.C. that connected us with this opportunity. Brian had phone and Skype interviews that resulted in the two of us flying down for a visit. When we landed we had lunch with some of the church leaders and I shared the story about how I wrote 901 on my tile at IF:Gathering. They all got very excited and said "just wait until you visit the church!" When we walked through the door on the right was this huge sign #reach901 -- the church's mission is to reach 901 with the gospel of Jesus. So it all came full circle and now our family is on the way to this new adventure with the assurance that God has called us to choose 901 to reach 901. One of my favorite parts of this story is how God used our old church to connect us with our new church ❤️We can't wait to see what this next chapter has in store for team Walters. See you soon 901! #901day #choose901 #reach901 #discipleship #ifgathering #iflocal @ifgathering @orchardmemphis @mcleanbible #teamwalterstakestn
